Super easy find. Featuring 'Rivet Catcher' from Great North Eastern Brewing Co Ltd. Now that 'Black Sheep' Brewery in Masham has gone bankrupt the southerners, sorry I mean Yorkshire-folk, will need the Geordies to supply them with superior ale.

Revisit. Rivet in bedrock could not find more modern fenomark today, although didn’t look that hard. Socially distanced trigpointing 101 provided to curious observers in nearby carpark who wanted to know what we were up to. Were slightly bemused even though off to Great Whernside tomorrow and knew it had a pillar. Even more bemused when we started tramping through nettles to find pivot on adjacent roadside wall.

Altitude 506m. I've looked for this one on a couple of previous occasions when passing and have never found it (I assume it had been buried) it is now in the open and visible.

Standard 1/4" rivet on a flat rock with a thin covering of soil and turf. Some ground disturbance was the tell-tale sign. Left exposed.

In the photos my 'assistant' is standing on the rivet. We found it, unearthed it, laid a circle of rocks around it and cleaned it as best we could. Seeing as ant1974 had logged it as 'good' a week previously, it seemed to have become buried again very quickly ;-) Praise be to CJO's photos and description.

Rivet in small rock outcrop under an inch of turf. Paced out from CJO directions, after a few iterations, prodded, found rock and soon rivet. 2.5m from foot of tumulus, 8m from road edge. By torchlight and unable to access photos, couldn't spot fenomark with only the one dimension to go on.

cjos photo is invaluable to finding this, had memorized it due to there being no signal, took around 15 mins of prodding but the turf came up easy exposing the rivet, amazing views, one of my favourite places

Small rivet under 1" of turf. Most of the items in the sketch are now missing or moved/replaced. 13.4m from new Richmonshire sign. 7.9m from Fenomark. 15.2m from old post (as per original sketch). 18m from centre of concrete trough, located between the two posts marked on the sketch. 7.7m direct from the road.

I found the metallic marker, which is just to the west of the tumulus, but no rivet.

was in the right area according to o.s. sketch and previous logs. probably overgrown. found this marker though about where the rivet should be. and the number is very nearly the same as o.s. station!
marker I know it's not an o.s. rivet but it's within a yard or so.©pendlelill

Failed to find it, despite having the OS diagram... only one out of four of the OS fixed points survives (the road-sign and wall have disappeared, and one of the two posts is lying on its side with its original position unclear).

Didn't hang around on this the wind even more cold now got a gps fix on this few photos and off, lots of drop bags of paving stone here looks like the Great Whernside ridge route is going to be repaired. Rivets are usually boring but not this with great views at 1658ft!

Checked obvious part covered rock - then started unearthing another one - whereupon my partner duly paced from two of the fixed points shown on OS drawing and found it immediately, not covered at all!

I completely fooled the couple who followed me down off Great Whernside and assumed I was heading up Buckden Pike by diverting slightly to the right to bag this rivet and take a picture of it. I think it is the first rivet or bolt I have walked to as I tend to drive to them. It was already partly exposed and easy to find. Different in that it was in a natural rock.

This should have been easy and probably is if you get your directions right. No digging necessary. A roadside rivet located (eventually) with the help of the OS sketch.
