Logged visits for Godzilla
The Opera House is now a Wetherspoons pub. It has been carefully restored inside & may original features retained.
Parked at Queen Elizabeth playing field next to Adisham School & followed footpaths across fields from there. Nice views across rolling chalk downland. Managed to stay dry between showers!
As I drive past this one most days on my way to & from work I thought I should stop & log it some time. Visible from Sutton Road.
Visited on a very sunny day on a family holiday in nearby Charmouth. Found with aid of previous logs. Nice view of Golden Cap.
The Waterloo Tower is within Quex Park. It was built in 1818 by John Powell. The nearby Powell-Cotton Museum & Quex House Gardens are well worth a visit. I forgot my camera, so the photo is lifted from their website!
Couldn't resist being the first to bag this - even though it's just an intersected station! Parked at the end of 'The Larches', went through the wooden gate & followed an overgrown path to the monument. It is a concrete obelisk raised in honour of the parliamentary reformer Charles Larkin. Wikipedia says that it was first erected in 1835, but has been rebuilt several times since, most recently in 1974. It may need doing again before too long as the base has a number of large cracks, possibly due to subsidence. Not easy to get a good photo due to dense tree-growth. No real views for the same reason. No sign of any bolt or bench-mark.
I missed this when I visited the nearby pillar recently. As I was passing again I thought I would pay my respects! Helped by previous excavation.
Visible from the road, just over a hedge & barbed wire fence; next to a holly tree. A cold wet day, so I didn't hang around for long!
A short walk along a farm track from a layby on the B2001. Half-buried so I couldn't see the Flush Bracket. Good view of Grain Power Station!
A short walk from the end of Well Hill Lane as mentioned on previous logs.
Located on the roof of Concorde House, 10-12 London Rd., ME16 8QA. Visible from the opposite side of the road.
A short walk from Holly Hill car park. Located next to a picnic bench & an information board giving a brief explanation of Trig Points. With no leaves on the trees there were views of The QE2 Bridge & Littlebrook Power Station at Dartford; as well as Canary Wharf.
Visiting friends nearby, so couldn't resist the opportunity to bag this one! A nice park to while away a couple of hours in the unseasonably warm weather. Good condition apart from faded blue paint & graffiti.
Parked at clubhouse & a short walk along footpath (driveway to Church Farmhouse). No golfers today - must be too chilly! Nice condition with plug intact.
Not the most spectacular location - but nice that it has survived.
Fantastic views across Kent. Saw a buzzard flying over Thurnham Castle.
I have driven past this one dozens of times without realising it was there! Easy to find on kerb by roadside.
My first (logged) trig! Happened upon this one when doing a site-visit for work. Nice peaceful location near to the North Downs Way.
