Stunning views today. I have been meaning to bag this for years but was on a day out with SS&MP and decided I had waited long enough. Had a fun walk up in the May sunshine
First Trigpoint of 2009 and a nice easy find with a nearby cache, what more can I ask for. Was out with SS&MP and Moongoose. It was nice to hug the concrete again.... Deego 248th
We found the nearby cache and had a look but there is no sign of this... Not surprised really as its been missing for 50 years :o) Michelle (scooby scrapy and mp) thinks I am mad, looking for a trigpoint I know is missing. Deego 247th log
1st log in months. I was out with my friends SS&MP. We had a lovely walk and the weather was spot on. Walked over to St Ann's Well for Chocolate cake and coffee then crawled back :o)Fantastic views and good company what more can you ask for.
On the way to Manchester Airport to pick up My youngest daughter. Managed to find a few minutes to log a trig on the way :o). No problem entered over the gate, it took longer to find somewhere safe to leave the car.
The gate was open and people were around waiting for the hunt to pass near the trig. People standing near the trig were suprised that we were there for the TP. We watched the hunt pass by, its the first one I have seen... (with SSMP)#453
In a road side field easy access. would be good views on a clear day but it was a bit misty in the distance (with SSMP)#243
With SS&MP, Good views from the top. bit windy though. Also YSM167 :o)
Out with SS&MP we parked in Valewood and followed the bridleway up to the trigpoint. Nice views from the top. Also found the nearby cache.
On the way to Shrewsbury, to meet some friends for a caching trip. Nice easy drive by after I found a way into the field. No sign of the FP on the floor that I saw.
Parked on the lane to the East. nice easy track to the Trig. Slightly damaged on top. Misty and wet today, so no views.
Parked on on the lane near to the entry to the farm, jsut a quick dash accros the grass. No views of anthing today very wet and misty.
Was out with my Dad, who was on a visit from Canada.. We parked to the North near the Bowstones and followed the Track. It was windy and wet underfoot but not enough to spoil the walk :o) Got the cache while we were up here.
Nice fake tree mast in the compound. It was hard to find a spot where we could see it but found one in the end. looks in good condition.
In a paddock just of the lane. Nice spot and the house next door must have good views.
Found on the way to the NEC, Took some spotting as the grass is long.
Went in via gate North of the water compound and skirted around the edge of a newly ploughed field. Manged to creep up on some rabbits playing (I must be getting more stealthful) and walked past the trig as it well hidden in a holly bush. Came out via the water compound.
Walked over in the rain to check a Trigpoint that went missing before I was born :o) I was not shocked that I didnt find it, just a very impressive hole in a active quarry
Gone .... Lost to houses. Cant even see it surviving in a garden.
Got close as I could on the path even though I know its been gone since the year I was born (68) Photo taken further along the path as there are trees where the trig would have been........#230
Hidden in hedge but easy access from FP. Good view of nearby windmill.
Called to see this today, It was a bit easier than Black edge to get to :o) Parked right next to it. Shame the owner's were not in
Followed the track into the woods then followed the Gps to the Mast.
Came from the Combs Edge Cache. Shame it was a touch hazy.
I was up here march 2004 and never spotted it :o( I came back today to log it and the YSM. Very gray miserable day
Came from the east, the crop is nearly all in now :o)
Parked in lane to the north, crossed a newly ploughed field that was hard going and the trig is in the next field, might be easier from the south
Followed my guied for the day to this one, thanks Michelle :o) fantastic veiws over to Brignorth. Later in the day we got to see the view from the over side.
Just off the lane.
Followed the path in from the south with a short of path excursion to the trig in the next field.
With SS&MP. We parked to the NW and followed the path up the hill. once we got to the top there was a rather large bull, luckily he just stood and watched us pass. The farmer was in his tractor in the field near the trig but we just walked around the outside to the trigpoint. The bull was right in the middle of the path on the way back so we walked around him :O)
With SS&MP. We parked to the south and took a nice walk over the fields. We saw a newborn cow that couldnt have been more than an hour old.
With browni and Tizzie. Built into a wall so could not confirm the FB No. But my list agrees with S3793. Nice spot and helpful owner :o)
Didnt get to this one, must read the logs before next time. I could find no way in, found the condoms though :o( Could see it through the fence/trees
Thanks to Glaslyn, this was a nice easy find :o) nearly parked on top of it though.
Parked near the A34 and climbed the banking, got to 20ft away but gather it was a lot lower when the trig was here, no sign of it as it was distroyed a few weeks after I was born.
Parked in the pub car park as visibility was too bad to leave it on the road. Through the gate and its only .1 of a mile to the trig near the top wall
No views today, Infact it was not far off whiteout conditions, Parked up in the laybay to the SE and followed the GPS.
Parked on the A57 in the lay-by, but you could drive right to it, but its states private road, public footpath only at the end. Very near Barton aerodrome so plenty of air traffic. FB under ground so had to remove the soil. The long horn cattle were splashing in the mud at the end of the lane
Good view, by a war memorial. Out on a day out caching while doing the nearby cache. #210
Parked near the electric sub station to the NE.I was on the way from the Airport (where I had dropped my sister off) to my Grandparents who live in Irlam. I had my Mother with me who was visiting her first trigpoint. Not the best one I have been to, but mum enjoyed the walk. Very flat around here and not much of a view
Last one of the day, Nice views, Bit of damage to the top of the pillar.
Came from the nearby cache. I had parked by the glider club, But alas no gliders in the air today.
Local stone, Plug missing, Nice short scramble to the trig.
Nice climb to the top, Good views even though it was a little hazy, also got the nearby cache.
Parked by the phone box to the NW. Its just over a mile to the TP. Lots of sheep in the fields on the way. Fantastic views from the top. Big bonfire pile near the trig. VGC
Did as part of the cache (that I could not find) Square and built from stone, FB not in the middle. Good views today.
Not on 1:25k map. But it is there. Next to a new house. very hidden in the hedge. the house owner was in his garden and said it was ok for me to look. still took some finding (Private)
Took some finding today, the grass is very long and I forgot to take the sketch. In the end the GPS put me right on top of it (See photo)
Nice pillar with plaque on it. on a FP (not well sign posted)..........200th log.
Approached on the FP from the South. Lots of shooting today from the gun club. Had to slide under the barb wire fence to get the photos. the cows came to see what was happening.

Just off path in a crop feild, Followed the tractor track in, but could not get closer (130ft) with causing damage to the crop.
Just of public footpath, in a freshly ploughed field.

We had done two caches on the way across to this trig. Its very boggy around the trigpoint, but I let Tony test it out first :o)Trigpoint in good condition (unlike the ground around it)
Tried to get this from the south, with no joy (Did see some lamas though) drove around to the north and went via the gate and track. (private)

On a Footpath in a ploughed field. I have seen the plaques before but this one is missing. Good view of the Wrekin.
7th and last Trig of the day out with Pharisee. On the way John spotted and small owl in one of the tree's. He posed for some photos before flying off. As john said we had to ask the farmer the way because we could not see the path. Nice spot.
With Pharisee. I enjoyed this one :o). We knew we were close, but could not see it. The field was waist high in oil seed rape. We followed the tractor tracks right up to the trigpoint. we were wet and yellow by the time we got back to the car :o)

With Pharisee, We parked in the pub car park and followed the path to the trig. The cows were very interested in us. but very friendly :o)
We parked over to the West near the Oxford Canal and the Railway and walked past the old vilage of Upper Smite, Not much remains apart from a few mounds. We ended up on the wrong side of the hedge, but soon found a way to it. Not much a view apart from the M6.
First Trig of the day, out with Pharisee. Did this after the nearby "Dont make a habit of it" Geocache. Nice walk just of the Centenary way.
Of the public footpath. But easy to get to.
Nice climb from Yorkshire Bridge. Nice views all around.

Bit blustery on top today. Had a nice walk to The White lady as well. nobody else up there today

well after 174 trig logs I was accosted for the first time. I had been a bit on the cheeky side, so I was not surprised. I had reversed off the road to turn around, and knowing it was only 250 ft away I jumped out of the car and dashed to the trigpoint. Just as I was taking a photo I looked back to the car and could see a lady standing by it. I rushed back and apologised for parking in her field. She was very nice about it :o)
Came for the trig point but would have been rude not to bag the nearby cache as well :o)(and the whole series)
Nice and easy for a surface block. My GPS was showing it to be 1 ft away. Think thats the best I have seen. Nice boundry sone nearby with a cut mark on it
Good views. plug is missing. Today was very windy and the hail hurt like mad. We did not hang around for long :o)
Very windy today with patches of snow. A few mast around (10 or so)The biggest must be 1000ft if its an inch
Drive by trig. right by the side of the road. Not much of a view.
Took some finding. Did not have this in the GPS, Pharisee spotted it on the map. on the 1:50000 map I had in the car it shows on the other side of the foot path so thats were we looked first. corner missing av views

It has indeed moved to the nearby village. I would rather see it spend its time here than be smashed up.
Just off a track near a few greenhouses and a parked mini.
Not sure how to log this. We had the sketch and maybe we could have felt it below the grass. But without a spade or a metal detector. could not be sure.
Good distant views.
Parked by the Moible phone mast and hopped over the fence. Good views if you ignore the M6 ,M6 toll road, phone mast and power lines.
In a wood just off a farm track. Lots of feeders on trees. The trig was well hidden on the other side of the bushes. A bit overgrown.

2nd golf course of the day. This one is not to bad. If you go down the golf course drive. there is a path the goes off before the course, follow this then you only have to cross over 1 fairway to the hill with the trees on.Its a bit moss covered and no views.

Went in from the Nearby cache, over the golf course. As it was Christmas eve there were not many people playing, A couple waved and I waved back It was christmas after all :o)
Went if from the north and picked up a well worn path right to the trigpoint. This has been my closest unfound trigpoint for a while (since my visit 17 months ago), glad to get it off the list. Deego 150th log

Got within 500ft. but the way was blocked but fence's and walls. looked ok though :o)

Walked over from the snowdon trig. no FB and a fair amount of damage. views were a bit sporadic thought the clouds
Walked up from pen-y-pass for the event cache. rained hard on the way up and heavy clouds on the sumit so no views today. nice walk back and the sun even came out
last here on the 08/03/03. came back to do the near by loaded gun cache....... Revisit 28/01/06 to change my nearby cache.

Drove up to it in the car. As said in other logs if its there its under the Tarmac.
Was not expecting to find this. (and must up date the info in my palm) Its not shown on any of the maps but according to Trigonomy it was built by NCB and used by the OS. and has no FB. beaten to it by fasgadh again :o)
wish I had seen fasgadh's Log before I went. I could find no sign of it.

Took some getting too. Had to skirt around the edge of the field. Crops by the road ploughed by the trig.
Could not get to it. Fenced off but it looks like its been returned to the vertical see pics. Good views.

Had a look around but could see no sign of it. but is very overgrown in places. and it could be in the next garden. there is a Berntsen 250ft up the road so that might be the replacment.

I hate rivets :) think I found it but who can tell in all the muck at the side of the road.
Looked around the field and farm buildings but no sign at all. GPS showing 4 ft away so think its gone.

Got to 100ft away and could see it throught the large hedge but could not get to it, and did not have enough time to find away around. Plus the field was full of sheep and had the dog with me. If anybody had the FB number on a list please drop me a email thanks

2nd fail of the day. Its shown on the map but its in what looks like a private wood. with NO paths at all, very overgrown and surounded by a barbwire fence

Revisited 5Th Feb 2005 to photograph and take Trigpoint Travel bug http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?tracker=TBH9G4 and get the new nearby cache
Was in the next field to the path over a 5ft hedge, about 60ft away. Could not get the FB number this time

one of my favourite places for walking been past here many times. Loverly views but can be windy at times.this was the first trigpoint I ever logged...................
