Last of 7 this morning in a couple of hours, beats xmas shopping.

Nice church this one, plenty of history to the church and the school.
Lovely place.
Another nice church.
When these old replaced pillars started appearing on the database I took the decision not to log those where I had been to the new pillar and also not to revisit sites but as I was close the power of the need to add one more tick to the list overtook me and I could not resist, the new pillar is living on borrowed time I think.
nice church.
been in a few wet fields before and come across many a cow with attitude over the years but both together here in a big way,so much so I forgot to take a photo of the pillar.

Could not see anything looking like a cupola. The O/S website also shows a bolt on the church tower which may or may not still be present.
good work this by Whats the point,I have tried three times now for my local surface bloke with no success, access as below.

Bagged the spire easy enough before looking for the benchmark,a couple of people from the church were helping me look when tigger 4242 turned up,1st time I have ever bumped into anyboby when out trigpointing, had a good chat and it was nice to hear someboby talk with so much euthusiasm,as we were talking a church member found the benchmark for us.
good views in all directions from here.
The original church here was demolished in 1959 due to mining subsidence, the coal board paid £15,765 in compensation for the new church which it as got to be said is not a nice building, interesting stocks on the grass verge just over the road.
The mill is still there but nothing like a apex only a flat roof, nice though and at least after two signal beacons out in the wash you can get close.
interesting one this, you can get much closer than at roger sand, still over a kilometre away but there is something on a sand bank in the correct direction,if its a signal beacon or not is another thing, had a second look on the 6th sept, still not sure to be honest so will have to log it as unknown.
difficult one this, looking out from the lincs coast its still over a couple of miles away, could see north Norfolk though so if it was out there I would expect to see something, another problem is I am not exactly sure what I am looking 4 if honest, the o/s have it down as destroyed so I will side with them inless somebody out there knows better
Nice church and grounds.
Signed footpath from road.
Just down the road at all saints you can get in the church but here its outside only, very nice though n gets you away from the madding crowd 4a hour.
The tower here is leaning, entry 2 the church is allowed so had a quick nip in and look round.

Booked on a tour of the fort, very enjoyable, this one completes all the pillars and was the last of 3 great days on the isle, half the fort is being used as a factory again so pretty sure you could turn up and try your luck in working hours, work beckons so it's back to the grind and planning the next trip.
Parked at ferry car park and quick dash out and back, very nice place.
on a plot of land next 2 seaflex, did try and find somebody 2ask but nobody about so took my chances, got caught on way back by a nice bloke who told me the land as been sold and permission 4 building granted 4 a new factory, not sure how the pillar will be affected

Drove upto the high point as Glaslyn, fence still in need of repair so easy enough to get through.
Lady here told me she had had a visiter last week but no logging (caroleengel maybe),was allowed to visit trig but was asked to make it clear on the website that future visiters should heed the private road signs and walk from the road, very good views.
Asked at the house and the chap there took me to the trigpoint, very overgrown,so much so did not see any cliff edge, when returning to my car had a sign on the window complaining about my parking so if driving up be careful where you leave your car.

Nice church, just ticking off a couple of Derbyshire intersected stations.
Interesting these Intersected stations, been here before more than once but do you revisit or just log it,had the same problem last week at Crich stand, thats only 50 metres from the pillar but still did a revisit before logging it.

had a good walk round the outside of the whole site without honestly being able to say I saw the active station, went into the reception on site and the lady there put me in touch with the site manager's office,he had gone home but was told that a visit could be arranged given notice so if anybody out there really wants to go have a look a e mail before your visit should do the trick.

Not to sure how to log this one, if you use the grid ref NO39838 30752 you arrive at the old unused Dundee college buildings,I walked all round the grounds and no sign, you can walk a little further up hill and get a decent view of the roof again with no sign of a active station,if you use the link for DUDE on the OSGB active station website you get a link for a photo of the site which shows a lifeboat, I rang the lifeboat station and they confirmed a OS active station on the pier leading down to the lifeboat itself,a very nice man arranged to meet me and also very kindly give me access to the pier for some photo's, the Grid ref above is the for the pier, always great views from this area and always cold.
Had a walk round the dundee college grounds and no sign of any active station on the roof or anywhere else in the college grounds.

parked in the small car park to the north west, used the path to the west on way in and no problems till you get to the trig when you are the wrong side of a barbed wire fence, not sure why I did not just go back over and return the same way but used the path to the east on return to the car and to reach the path had to climb two gates.

came here 5 years ago to log Bolsover bolt, was not sure if to just add this log on that date or to revisit, did the latter by way of a detour home from buxton, the bad news is that made a mistake on my spreadsheet here and had got Owler bar next on my list but had got that and this one the wrong way on the sheet.
asked at security and was told no problem to get onto the site but not today as everyone busy, the estates manager as given me his card and told me to arrange a visit, still thought I would have a look from the old railway line but was worried about leaving the car on the road so think from looking at other photo's that I never walked round far enough as could not see the active station, will arrange a visit at some stage.
easy roadside.

up from Buckden and then on to Birks fell, good walk.
settled for as close as possible from the track and the top 3/4 inches popping out over the wall.I am always happy to take my chances on the resr trigs but this must be the best security I have ever seen, somebody somewhere watching as well because the cctv was following my every move.

short and steep walk up from the road, last 1 before the long drive home, thought I would do this 1 as it is along time since it had been visited and I was worried about the quarry getting closer, GPS showed the quarry still 50 meters away so it looks safe for sometime to come.
easy walk up from the road, great views in all directions.
Located within the ESD eastriggs compound and visited with kind permission of the MOD,many thanks to them and also to my escort and guide Stuart Thompson, the pillar is in good condition and the views over the solway very good indeed. No camera's allowed as you would expect so in the morning I walked the footpath between the solway and the security fence and got a photo from the path when as close as possible. Stuart himself says he as no problem escorting people who have permission from the MOD and as I had no trouble getting permission maybe now is the time for anybody out there wanting to visit, he did say that he thinks group visits would probabaly be harder to get pass the MOD.

even having once found 1 of these I did not hold out much hope here after reading previous logs, indeed I did not what to come at all but it's close to home and is also a SK still on the to-do list so it needed to be looked at, turned out to be a nice walk from the vilage with good views, spent a good 30 minutes with the tent peg prodding about and even 5 minutes digging up a very nice stone, have gone for possibly missing as it could still be about and hiding just waiting for somebody to get lucky.

easy field edge from road to the north.
was just about to nip over the gate and make my way over the fields when I noticed a man taking pictures of my car as he walked over to ask what i was up to,he sent me to the nearby farm as he was sure the trig was on their land, they informed me the trig is on land belonging to creswell farm so it was back in the car and a trip down the A5013,the very nice couple there pointed me in the right direction down the farm track heading north east and then under the motorway which brings you straight to the field with the trig in,easy when you know how, good views.
easy walk up from road end, barbed wire half down if you walk past the trig and double back, good views.

a very quick visit, great views for very little effort.
parked in the shut down pub car park on the A5 and took footpath almost straight to the trig.
no problem finding it but not a nice place and not really a good day for messing about digging.
farmer in field setting some explosive devices next to the trig so could not avoid him really,he seemed suprised with the field covered in snow but was happy enough to let me take my photo's.
very cold up here today and plate covered in snow but found it without to much trouble.
nice walk from the church, very cold but lovely walk and good views.
parked at end of new road and straight up the steps to the trig.
Great little walk in the snow but no real views today.
Heavy snow falling as I arrived here, no real problems parking today.easy find.
lost count of the amount of times I have told the daughter I am going to get up early in the morning and bag this trig, the plan this time was to watch the sunrise from the top, abit late for that but I made it none the less, very cold and a snow flurry as I was on the top took away the views but it was a great little walk.also my 1st scottish marilyn. UPDATE 4/01/10. I have been informed by those that know that Arthurs seat is a Marilyn so this is now my 2nd Scottish marilyn.
after reading the reports on yahoo trigonomy earlier in the week I thought I would take the chance to stop of and have a look on the annual pre xmas visit to dundee,a good covering of snow made for a exciting 40 minutes out the car, great views.

No real problems apart from abit of gardening.
parked next to it, no problems.
Easy find thanks to previous photo's.
many thanks to Brisey for his advice on the best way of getting to the trigpoint which was spot on,I left the sea wall south east of the trig and crossed the smaller ditch with the help of a well placed boulder which takes a foot of the jump and makes it just possible without getting wet feet, from here it's a easy walk to the trig with only a smaller ditch to cross which is a easy jump,on the way back I found a nice plank of wood which just reached across the ditch and saved the jump,In spite of all the industry around I liked the area and had a nice walk along the sea wall.
Parked in the pub car park and tried the footpath but could see no way to the trig, I tried knocking on a couple of doors but with no reply so just had a quick nip up and down for a photo. this 1 completes all the trigpoints on map 128
Asked at bank top farm and walked up the track from there, field edge around the field with the trigpoint in due to newly planted crops.
hard work this,4 gates and a fence with barbed wire in 300 metres behind the road to the north and the trigpoint.
Asked at the farm and given permission to visit the trig,no problems.

in base to steps, last trig of three days along the south coast and the isle of wight, good views, very windy.
There is a path into the field next to the fence which gets you close to the grid ref,no sign of trigpoint but there are places it could be hiding.
no sign, good views over to portsmouth from all along portsdown hill road.
Parked in the entrance to the resr and 1st bagged the portsmouth ua top, walked down the road to the main entrance and thought I would just try my luck and walk straight in, expected to be stopped by security but nobody about so walked up the slope still expecting to be stopped at anytime, the area at the top is now a NHS site and also used for a NHS park and ride, once you have got this far the only thing to separate me from the dozen's of other people in the area was I was strolling around with a gps in my hands, the trig is across the car park from the slope past the burger van, once there and having got some photo;s in case of being seen I took my chances and climbed the slope straight to the trig, great views from the trig itself, took the steps for the park and ride on the way back and straight out back on to the main road.
after stokes two bay and down barn farm it was nice to find 1 where you know what your looking for, enclosure still a rubbish tip, good views.
If your in the area I suppose you have to come and have a look, not sure what to say about it really,it's a drain cover with a small mark in 1 corner, well let's be honest, it.s a drain cover.
Not sure about this 1, I don't think the EA bench mark is what we are looking, I took the O/S sketch with me(but no tape measure, clever that),the EA benchmark is certainly not in the right place according to the sketch, even without a tape I could tell that, I have left condition as unknown until somebody can tell me otherwise.UPDATE:17/05/2010 Have changed my logged condition to Cnf,suspected at the time the EA benchmark was not correct and now comfired.
nice sea front walk from the car park at stokes two bay trigpoint, great views in all directions.
very busy this time of the day in this area, nice walk up from the docks.
walked up from the docks, interesting city walls to look at on route, southampton itself at this time in the late afternoon looks a very lively place.
easy walk over from the trig on Wroxall down then down to the coastal path, great views.
day trip from Southampton to pick up the nearby county top,did a real clever thing on the way to the top and managed to lose my map, good if misty views, on to S1502 then down to shanklin and the coastal path to sandown.

circular walk from the car park in the woods, lovely views including a nice rainbow.
1st trig of a 3 day trip picking up trigs and county tops along the south coast, easy walk up from the car park, great views.
no sign of trig but if it's been moved once I suppose it could have been moved again and there are plenty of places in the area to hide it, stone circle in it's place, I did have a 15 minute look around and found a tv,fridge and 2 baths all within a few hundred metres.
parked near the pub and easy walk along footpath, very nice here, the best of the day.
footpath from estate.
easy walk on footpath from the estate, nice views on a ever improving day.
easy enough with the sketch, dry but still windy, good views.
had a good look round from the security fence but could see no sign of a trigpoint,on the plus side it had stopped raining with even the threat of some blue sky later.
Parked in estate off minor road and took the track upto the field with the trig in,newly planted crops and very over looked here so field edge only.
did a quick trip round the resr as best as possible, no sign.
easy walk up from the road, rain slowing abit but still very windy.
parked at farm and easy walk up,bit of a tip in places on the way up but the bad weather must have kept the dog inside, probably got more sense than to venture out on a morning like this.not bad views during short breaks in the mist.
lost count of the amount of times I have changed walking or trig pointing days on the advice of the weathermen and then sat at home all day in nice weather so today I just went for it and got very wet indeed, easy walk in from the road, flowers on top of trig, can imagine it being very nice views from here on a clearer day.
been meaning to come here for a long time and finally got round to it on the way home from trigpointing in lincolnshire, easy nip over the fence from the road, also had a look at Annesley road pillar on the way home, still safe in it's compound.
well buried in the hedge and tight up against a electric fence, got as close as I could.
easy parking and just of the track.
took some finding, the map seems to show it very close to the junction when it is well away, could not see it from the road but managed to find away through the hedge, even then it only shows itself when you are very close, slight damage.
just off track leading upto the farm, good views, not sure why this is listed as toppled or moved as it is still standing.
nothing to add to other logs,GPS showed it near to the car dealership showroom.
easy walk from road, another 1 I really enjoyed.
I took the under the barbed wire option, plenty of room even for a overweight trig spotter, some slight cracks, I liked this 1, very nice.
nice little walk from the road on a marked footpath.
walked up 2 log this in the middle of a fruitless hour looking for the nearby bolt,a nice diversion for 5 minutes, just in hedge trackside.
spent 90 minutes in total on this, the fbm and the bolt and only this 1 to show 4 my efforts, the lids still in place or I am sure it will have been a complete 3/3 cnf, I will return for the other 2 soon.
I can see why this as been missed before, still well hidden this time of year, you can't see it from the track side of the hedge.
buried to fb, easy walk from road on track.
viewed from nearby track.
drove up to the gates of the oil wells and took my photo of the field.
straw bales back again but trig easy enough to find.
as below, life would be much easier if I read the previous logs properly.
never spotted the gate till at the trigpoint looking down, went through the hedge and ditch on the way up and took the easy field edge and gate on way down, good views.
easy enough to find but abit of nightmare to get to, ended up climbing over the fence and down and back up the bank and still never got within touching distance.
quick walk up drive from road, easy to spot this time of year.
parked in gateway and tried the track 1st, new crops so did not cross field, best way is to walk 200 metres down the road fron the gate and walk the small ridge between the 2 fields straight to the trig, farmer and several other people about but nobody came over to ask what I was upto so maybe now they know the game.
parked at the farm but nobody about so left the car out the way and walked up the long green lane, managed to get through all the way on the green lane but did the field edge for 1st 400 metres on the way back, trig in good condition.you need nearly a hour for the walk.
roadside, in hedge.
the fence with the blue disk is no more but the rivet was still uncovered and easy to find.
I came here while in the area doing the Southend ua tops because on the map it looked like the kind of remote place that might give up great views over to the river and beyond, disappointed to say the least but as mentioned below the trig itself is in very good condition.
This at the nearby Medway ua top from the car park, you can see some of the sights shown on the information board this time of year.
just before the gate as you walk up the track from the road.
never seen a bolt like this 1 before,Grid ref is well out by at least 15 metres.
finished my plans for the day early so got this 1 of the map as it looked easy, spent a good 10 minutes looking on the wrong side of the road, sure the map is wrong on this 1,anyway I got there in the end, over the gate from the footpath.
parked in the car park and had a hour's stroll up to the trig and round the hill fort, great views.
parked at the car park just as the ridgeway meets the road,no problems at the moment with no crops in the field, great views.
parking just by the footpath and a quick nip over the gate and across the field, another with good views.
another just off the ridgeway with good views.
parked on the grass verge and walked up the ridgeway and round the field edges, very good views.
been thinking about doing this 1 for sometime now due to it being named after me (well that's my story anyway),as I was in the area I could resist no longer, parked at the stables and easy walk up to the trig, good views.
another trig hiding in a lincolnshire hedge, last 1 of the day, lots look easy on the map but not in september.great that they were all still there and standing bar Benniworth.

from the police hq, only field edge as farmer about.
field edge from the road, just behind the houses, good views.
roadside near junction.
another under the hedge job.
easy find after the hard work of those below, hard work up and down the slope.
easy roadside trig.
a lot of pain involved in getting to this, under the hedge, can still feel it now, even worse reading now that there is a gate.
just as many round here, roadside.
in hedge at crossroads.
across the field from the footpath, leaning but looks safe enough.
tried all 3 roads in an attempt to get close but trig in view and did not want to upset anyboby so just viewed from field edge.
parked as father ted, easy find.
nice walk up the track/footpath, good views.
field edge from the road but wrong field and barbed wire and electric fence between me and the trig.
in hedge on roadside
field edge from road.
field edge from the road.
messed up here by not reading the previous logs correctly and I only visited the original site so nothing new to add, interesting all the same, the road my sav nav wanted me to go down is no longer there.
be rude not to log it while you are here,
from the caravan park, great views.looks safe for sometime yet
no sign.
great little walk with good views all the way from the nearby village, field edge from the footpath with no problems, great views from the trigpoint.
parked next to it on double yellow lines so quick nip over the fence and back, very nice views.
knocked and got escorted down to the fbm, part buried.
this was 1 of those rare but joyous moments when you find the block in the 1st place you look, thanks to those below I had no problems at all, the joy did not last long as I spend 40 minutes with no success trying to find it;s near neighbour TP0648.
from the track, big field but dry under foot.

from hilton on a non firing day, trig in very poor condition but still standing, good views over to mickle fell.
expected to have trouble finding this 1 but when I got there 3 very nice men had already uncovered it 4 me, not bad views.
nearly give up on this 1, very well hidden this time of year, only so long you can spend in a kids playground looking in the hedges, go it in the end though and even keep my nerve and took a quick photo.
knocked and got the ok to have a look and take photo, hard to spot from the road at the moment.
no problems getting into the church but no access to the tower, it is the tower open day this Saturday( 29/8/09) so if anybody is in the area this could be a chance to see the bolt though I am not sure if access to the roof is allowed.
just in field from road, nice and easy.

from llyn ogwen via pen yr ole wen, great days walking on a beautiful clear day, no sign of trig.

Great if wet walk up from Crowden car park, having done all the still standing trig pillars in Derbyshire bar this 1 I have beem meaning to come up here for a couple of years now and finally made it, however I now believe 1 more as been resited in a garden in Buxton so still not quite done.
Horrible slog up from Dovestone resr through the woods and straight on to the trig, then Hoarstone edge and back via Chew resr.
quick nip up after an appointment at the hospital, good views.
nice way to finish my day in the area, easy walk from the road and good views.
Only really in the area doing county/ua tops, finished early so just picking up trigs from the map without grid ref or having read previous logs, made a bog up of this 1 looking the other side of track before spotting it as I was about to give up.
A quick nip through the hedge from the road.
Annoyed about this one because everybody else seems to have at least seen the trigpoint and I could not spot it at all, tried the intercom to both houses with no reply though sure people home,I walked to the left of the gates all the way round the fence till I could see the tennis court and to the right of the gates as far as possible, very annoyed reading below that it's only 10 metres to the left and 5 metres in yet I could not see it,got a feeling this is one that will need to revisit to set my mind at rest.
easy find on way back from Bracknell Forest ua/top at Surrey hill.
all clear and easy to find today.
from the lay-by on the A672,easy walk on the pennine way, unusual in that it had a beefburger on the top, across the moor from here to the Calderdale ua top, the moor ifself pretty dry compared to earlier walks today on Holcombe and Rooley moors.
from Rooley moor road end, lovely walk taking in the trigpoint,Rochdale ua top and the Marilyn, big wind farm on top and good views, several cars parked on top on road made I assume to build wind farm.the Marilyn is west of the trigpoint though to be fair you could make a case for nearly anywhere on the top.
the first of three triangular shaped walks today on the moors north of Manchester all three taking in a trigpoint and ua top, from Crowthorn road, very wet underfoot, reasonable views.
good walk up from coppermine lane, good views if a little hazy.
Robinsons were more than happy to let us visit the trigpoint and I am sure future visits could be arranged without to many problems,Ted as described the trig,it's location and condition far better than I ever could and as he also had the sense to remember his camera and I had to use my mobile phone for my picture's I will not upload my photo's.
last 1 of my week in the south west, bagged via a slight detour on the way home, county top of torbay. my 9th county top of the week and the last in the south west. maintenance crew on site so asked and was given the ok to visit the trig.
in concrete base to bench, I liked it here, very nice.
the notes I took with me just said up a steep hill, not much help round here but I got there in the end.
ignored by the masses walking not feet away, good views but far to many people about.
day trip from penzance for the ua/top on st mary's and would have been rude not to get the boat over to bag this as well, great views, plenty of people making the walk up straight from the boat and like me everybody got wet on the way.
path from the north west, good views.
thought I was being a bit naughty going past the blocked section but feel better now I know I am not the 1st,2nd of the day from St Ives on the coastal path, you can get to the trig beyond the diversion without taking any risks.
walked up and down the track a few times before I spotted the top of the trig and faint path up to it.
2nd historic county top of the day after High willhays this morning, not far short of 2 hours out and back from the road end at Codda, never found any sign of a path but no real problems but would be hard work in poor visability
nuttalls walk from the resr, great walk in fantastic conditions, good views.
a nice dry and clear evening after a wet and misty day, not sure to be honest which bits are active stations as there seems to be 4 similar objects on the lighthouse.
see ANT#1.
nice houses, no trig.
from the nature reserve car park, area still clear so no problems.
easy roadside, on high bank.
nothing worse than not being able to find a pillar but try as I might I could not track it down, the footpath sign go,s straight into a electric fence with no room to walk round it,I did try walking down the next field and cutting back but with no luck.
hard work this, not sure why but thought it was in the hedge of the track, anyway I got there in the end, good views.
followed track from east, still misty but rain stopped.
still misty and very wet, all in all not very nice.

footpath from Bozeat and on from here to Bedford borough u/a county top.nice walk to finish the day.
easy roadside.
crops in field so only got as close as possible, very loud dogs in house next to field so did not try tram lines though probably would have got me closer.
not sure why but I really liked this one, easy access and it's like it's got it's own little field.
easy roadside on country lane.
was expecting this to be very close to the edge after looking at earlier photos and it being 18 months since a visit but it looks very much as before, hopefully it's got a few years left yet, good views.
spent 40 minutes here 2 days ago with no luck, only took about 15 seconds today after looking at the photo's from previous logs, I took the o/s sketch last time and I am sure it is wrong, spent all my time on my last visit the wrong side of the concrete block digging and poking about, mind having said that it is big enough and I can't believe I did not spot it.
took the path from the road coming up from the south west, fairly steep climb but good views all the way up, trig just off main path but with easy access.
over gate and round compound as below.
easy walk up from the road, great views, sun out after getting soaked on Burrow only a hour earlier.
Only really had plans to do cross fell today but as I was back at Great dun fell early thought I would nip out and back to this one, looked easy enough on the map but failed to find any kind of path and it was hard going all the way,as on cross fell no views but still a great days walking.
Parked at the end of the public road in Knock and walked up lane to join pennine way over great dun and little dun fells, easy walking but no views today.
just inside field, easy nip over the gate.
just 40 minutes after flipflopnick so you will not be surprised it's still tucked in the hedge, good views.

easy walk throught the country park from Cathkin braes trig, views ok.
short but steep climb from Ardencraig road, good views of both Glasgow and hills beyond, easy walk from here through the country park to Windlaw trigpoint.
I have looked up towards this hill and the tower many times on my way to and from Dundee and always promised myself that the next time I would take the time to walk up,it's taken a few years but it was worth the wait, A lovely walk and very good views.
easy from the road,good views.
a little hazy today but views still good, easy walk from the road,on a clear day you would get a lot of reward for very little effort here.
I wanted to have a look at this while I was in the area just to make sure it was still safe, work still going on in stanley park but it looks like the area around the fbm is nearly finished, the area is still fenced off but you can get within 3 feet so I have gone with good and not unreachable.
Many thanks to those who helped with information on how to gain access, very nice to have met some fellow triggers and share the odd story or two,it's not often you need to be escorted to a pillar but on this occasion our guide was very informative and more than happy to help in anyway possible. It will still be in Lancs long after I suspect some politician as once again reorganised local goverment but for the time being I needed this pillar as the u/a top of Knowsley, also had a look at a bus stop(Sefton u/a) and a water tower( Liverpool u/a) while I was in the area.
A couple of hours ago I was made to give up on the Berntsen down in Dunbar by the lad moaning at me so this was my revenge, not much to add to previous logs, the lad did get his way after this 1 and I relented on a planned quick nip up Dundee law.
no problems here, only the top visable, good views, I also had a prod about on the golf course edge for it's near neighbour but I was getting moaned at so left it for another day, great views from the golf course.
A quick stop on route north, easy drive to and great views, must put this part of the world on the list for a longer revisit.
parked at the lodge, not sure if these are full time houses or holiday homes but plenty of people about and nobody asked who I was as I left the car,no footpath signs so just walked through the plant hire yard and through the gate and up the hill without asking, nice views from the top,the footpath is signed at the top of the hill as straight back down to the lodge so not sure if it's been moved, diverted or somebody just does not want people about.
finally made it,this trig as been on my list on several days out but for 1 reason or another I never seemed to get to it,after this I only have 1 leicestershire Trig left to do, parked at the farm and walked up with no problems.
went with all the previous logs plus sketch and O/S photo this time and tracked it down after about 10 minutes poking about.
no sign, nice views.
last one today, parked near pub and easy and lovely walk up, nice trig to finish with.
quick nip up and down from gate, the house as a sign up saying loose guard dogs,I don't think it meant they were of easy virtue so did not ask at house for permission.
a most unusual thing for south yorkshire, a trig you can get to without a fight, parked at shopping centre and walked back.
no reply today but did get a quick look and photo over the back gate, not even a pasing wilderbeast today though to be honest I have always thought that if you have seen 1 wilderbeast you have seen then all.Revisit and entry to garden 20/11/2010.
easy walk round the back of the houses from the road, nice after 2 missing and two in resr compounds to finally find 1 all present and correct.
funny how things turn out,I parked in the football car park and walked up to where the trig use to stand, when I got back to the car park the football match had finished and I was about to get locked in,if I had not missed out hill top trig by mistake earlier I would have been in trouble,if you can ignore the tip the views are good.
got a bit confused on route to this 1,made a mistake with the sat-nav, the next on the list was hill top(TP3918) but ended up here instead. easy walk from the road and good views from the top.
did a full circuit of the resr fence and no gaps or ways in found, pretty sure I could have got over the fence where it meets the stable fence but could not see away of getting out again, no sign of trigpoint and no cracked ribs.
parked at road junction and easy nip up track to trig, nice views from the road junction and a handy bench for a sandwich and a drink.
found it no problem with the tape measure from the concrete block, I also took the O/S photo which confused things before I used the tape, the position of the lay-by seemed to have moved!!!
easy walk from lay-by to the south, not bad views at all.
not much to say that's not been said,at least it was dry underfoot, All the way to this 1 i had seen a steady stream of others walkers and after this not another soul.
on route to this from Pen cerrig-calch I had planned to do something new and went in search of Merlin's cache 5,even armed with the great clue that it's under a flatish boulder with heather behind( not many of then up here)I could not find it,anyway 1 evening soon I will go looking closer to home and track 1 down, moving back to the trig,it's seen better days but is hanging in there and the views from it are very good.
1st of 3 trigs and 7 tops doing Nuttall walk 12:2,the 1st serious walk of the year and boy am I unfit, hard work to get to this 1st top but good day's walking and a great day 4 it.
I have tried and failed twice before for this 1,both times from the houses on western Gailes way but without success. As it is the joint u/a county top of Hull I thought I would have another go( not before preparing for failure by bagging the other at Bransholme just in case the wife gets suspicious as to why I spend so much time in Hull) anyway asked at the golf club and given permission to walk up,easy really if you bother to read previous logs before you go.
lovely walk from commondale via Redcar and Cleveland county top just a mile or so to the south east, good views.
Spotted this on the map and thought it would be a nice and easy way to finish the day, looked like it was going to be easy next to the track, spent a good 15 minutes without success and ended up phoning the lad for the grid ref, well hidden in the trees but got there in the end.
over the fence and field edge from road, good views.
As Father Ted below, would also agree this is higher than the offical Sunderland u/a county top.
Parked on Hylton lane and easy field edge from there, not sure why this as gone as it was not in anybody's way, good views.
easy access over the gate and down the track with no problems, trig leaning slighly,a quick nip over the gate near the trig gets you to a very nice looking bump which doubles as the York u/a county top.
good paths from lay-by in road.
easy walking from the cross, misty but not bad views.
parked in road near golf club car park and walked up to trig without being challenged, resr railing still down in places so no problem with access, nice views.Warrington u/a top.

footpath from road to the north east and quick detour.
drove up the track and parked at the cottage, easy walk up to the pillar, nice views from the trig.
followed the footpath and turned right as it went left, followed the hedge back to the road and turned right again back to the car,in other words did a nice square.
field edge from the road, reading below i am pleased to see i am not the only idiot crawling throught hedgerows and regreting it later.
easy roadside.
left the car at North wold farm and took on the long walk down to this one, even though it was only 60 or so metres i still managed to end up the wrong side of the hedge for the flush bracket, deceided i could sneak under the hedge to save the walk all the way back to the car and back down the other side, not sure why i thought this, must have been thinking back to days of old when I was alot slimmer, still i got there in the end, very wet on the knees but none the wiser,I am sure i will do the same the next time it happens.
definitely missing, nice it,s only 60 metres to the next one.
from the radar station, easy field edge, I have been here before a few years back (pre trigpointing days)to get the Lincolnshire county top,in the area so returned for a photo, not bad views.
snow on the ground, mud, sleet coming down steady and no sign of it,was expecting a battle but 1 simple measure from the gatepost and there it was only an inch below the surface.

roadside, easy to spot this time of year.
easy from road to the north.
no sign of it,up here to do the lincolnshire county tops, this is the north Lincolnshire U/A top.not bad views, plenty of snow still about.
cannot add to below really, the plank still missing but even in this game there are certain things you know you should not do.GPS at fence shows you are within 30 metres of given Grid ref.
not sure my sweet talking patter is as good as Late starter and settled for a quick look and a nice photo of the gatehouse.
saw the log below from Crazy and thought the time had come to lay the ghost to rest on this and Bassingfield, the only 2 still standing pillars in Notts I have failed to find (mansfield west notts college still due a visit soon).used the same parking and means of entry as my last visit, got as close as possible using GPS on the track and went for it,took some finding but I got there in the end, great walk back to the car with the ground still covered in snow on a beautiful day knowing it was another blue face turned yellow.also drove down to the Annesley road pillar for a quick check,it's still safety in it's secure compound, not sure when it's release date is set for but it looks like it will survive.
In the 18 months since my last visit must have drove past over a dozen times and looked over longingly thinking about the glorious day I would return and turn the blue face yellow, how good it feels to have sorted it at last.parked in lay-by and walked past the end of the lay-by before crossing the ditch.not bad views.
just off track, nice views.
easy parking at road junction, back at the car in 5 minutes, good views.
even after reading those below I was still expecting the usual problems I always seem to have with these but it was only a couple of minutes before I found it, almost a disappointment not to have to spend the afternoon digging up the roadside verge.
parked on the track to the north near Gothersley hall and on the instructions of a very nice lady horse riding followed track into woods and turned left onto very muddy track at the 1st pipeline warning post, this track takes you straight upto the trig without having to worry about fences, good views.
parked in pub carpark and followed path as below, still trying to hide but not bad this time of year.
early start today and 1st trigpoint after 3 u/a tops in the west midlands area(all crying out for but sadly lacking a trig),nice walk and good views.
parked next to water tower and a quick nip over very wet grass, would be very difficult to spot from this side in the summer with the trees.
nobody in at treetops so asked in the house the other side of the drive, the chap there give me the go ahead and directions.
parked at mast and over gate.
parked at the church in Stoke Edith and followed the gated track upto the ridge, did both Marilyn tops just in case new technology sometime in the future proves 1 is a millimetre higher than the other.
parked at the village hall near the phone box and nice but muddy walk through the woods.
parked on lane near the mast and a easy walk up from there, the best of the day I think this 1,good all round views.
easy parking near the beacon,no problems with access.
I read the report below from Idrm on Friday night so set of up to the trig with high hopes that Girls aloud might be doing a video on the top and maybe I could give my 1st ever 10/10 for the view, alas that pleasure still awaits me but even without the girls the views were very good.
only 5 mins after the trig on hazler hill and the mist as cleared and the views from here very good.
mist as returned for the day and once again no views, easy walk up the track from the road and the fbm.
up and down the easy route, the mist had cleared and at last a view to look at,barbed wire between the trig and footpath so settled for a quick look, the tower was closed.
another trig with very little today in terms of views, great walk though and another place worth a revisit come the summer.can.t remember ever having been so cold on a dry and windless day.
nice walk in and good little climb up the rocks to bag the trig, no views today but looks a very interesting area.
as father ted parked to the south west, tried to save time by heading straight up hill to the trig but it was hard work, very cold and ground hard underfoot.
nice walk up from the canal, I was going to say I was in the area so could not resist nipping up to bag the trig but the truth is i was xmas shopping in Oxford street when a irresistible urge to rejoin the real world got the better of me,sure there are those who will argue that shopping in Oxford street is the real world and it's those looking at bits of concrete in fields that are in a all together stranger world.
This was my 700th log so you think i would know by now that if your going to have a quick look at the map and set of for the trig just a couple of hundred metres beyond a mast that you should make sure its the right mast, was only when i was past the mast and going back down hill i realised i may be wrong, looked across and there it was on the next hill, back to the car and set of again with the map,no problems this time bar the barbed wire fence, very good views.
last of 3 on a short walk from the car park at Ditchling beacon, very good views.

on route to Carmarthenshire historic county top, moved this walk forward to friday from saturday on the strengh of the bbc weather forecast thursday evening, idiots the lot of them, rain, windy and misty all morning, even some hail on the way down, no views till well back down.
good views even in the mist.
sitting in the car at the Hirwan Viewpoint lay-by wondering if i had time before dark on a already misty day when summit fever took a grip on me and made a quick dash there and back in just over a hour, followed the road down to the marked footpath on the way out and very wet underfoot till you meet the track,on the way back stayed slighty more to the north, much easier and cuts out most of the road walking.
done as part of the nuttalls walk 13:1,no views all day, lots of people about on here and Corn Du and not a soul on Cribyn and Fan y Big,no sign of the trig but it could have been hiding amongst all the people.
great views, very windy and trig badly damaged,5 hours walking and never saw a soul all day.
a nice walk up and great views, very windy.
Father Ted might be interested in this 1,after our e-mails last week i worked hard on the lad and managed to get him to come out with me today,he came into his own on this 1 as i could not fit through the hole in the hedge and he had to crawl through for the photo.
looked like a nice easy trig just of the track but not this time of year,no chance of seeing it from the track so it's into the field and then it does it's best to hide, took a good 15 mins before i found it and uncovered the little bit you can see on the photo.
parked in field entrance and a quick field edge to the trig, farmer in next field so did not hang about.
parked on the lane and round 3 sides of the field to get to trig, a lot of the walk in view, all in all not very nice.

even when you know where it is it does not give it self up easily.
round the field edge from the road.
had a quick look and got the photo.no trig.
found without the usual fight.
easy walk from lane end, nice views.
it's a shame to finish the day with 2 def and 1 poss missing but there is still plenty of concrete to look at in this part of the world.had a great day and plenty of places to come back and look at in more detail at some stage in the future.
gone i think, nice views of the bridge makes it well worth the visit.
no sign, was somewhere close to number 65 at 1 time.
up the bank half way down the track and tractor lines to the trig.
route as seanmac, hard work on the sea defence in the long grass.
route as mickandshane and many others.
followed the track as far as possible and then across the fields, no crops today.
followed the path pass the pillar and doubled back on the way to trig but just followed field edge on way back to gap in hedge opposite house, could not see the way to nip over the ditch.
parked in car park and followed track.
had a good look round and could not find it, very wet.
only had a quick look from the track leading upto the farm, no sign.
next to a tree near the 15th tee.
took the Brisey route as below.
asked at the farm and got the ok to drive as near as i dare as no crops in field at moment, left car at track end and walked up from there, enjoyed this one, always feel a bit more at ease when i know i have permission, good views.
the only thing i have wrote in my notes is "not nice " could not get to close due to the mess.
agree with father ted, not very exciting but worse to come a mile up the road.
found gate and easy access, rain had passed by very quickly but long grass here very wet.
just as i got to the gates a car pulled up and a lady who informed me she was looking after the house asked if she could help me,she had no problem with me having a look and i got excited that i might be able to sort this 1 out once and for all, i had only spent 30 seconds in the garden having a quick first glance round when the heavens opened and her goodwill soon disappeared,on the strengh of a quick glance i would not like to say it is definiely not there.
the fence is now broken but still found using photo by Brisey.
left the car in track entrance and easy walk down track and field edge to trig, police car parked next to me on return.conditions underfoot not to bad.

left the car just off the road on the track and did this and TP2245 (clump)from the same spot.
in the hedge, access as below.
rang the bell and waited but no reply, there must have been people inside the compound as 2 cars were parked inside and a dog spent 10 minutes barking at me.
parked on the bend in the road and used the track down to the cliff edge, nice views.
guarded over my its newer and bigger neighbours, easy access.
nice start to a big trigpointing day in the area,a police car already waiting near the trig and i was 2 be parked next to 1 several times during the day, abit hazy but very nice.
as below I was very short on time so drove as close as possible and a quick nip over the gate.
no sign of the footpath but my gps shows the trig was probably in or only just beyond the hedge next to the road.
the trig is damaged, the church tower on the lean and the pub is shut Monday dinner, apart from that everything is fine and the views very good.
a nice walk up the footpath. good views.
nice easy 1 on a footpath after my problems at Honington Heath.not bad views.
got in trouble here,no problems finding the trig but spotted a car coming towards me on the way back and knew i was in trouble, explained i had just nipped up to have a quick look at the trigpoint but was told it was on private land and i should not be there, the lady seemed even more upset when she told me i could not get out the way i was walking as the gate was locked and i had to admit i knew this as that was the way i got in,took my punishment, said i was sorry and promised never to do it again and was sent on my merry way.

4th in a row and 5th and of last 6 that is missing, the 3rd of those for which i can see no reason it as gone, at less it's not a industrail unit.

left the car at coneygreen farm (where i am sure it feel at home with all the other scrap cars)and used the footpath upto this trig, very nice views from up here.
asked at farm and given escort up to the trig by very nice young lady, her small son and 3 sheep dogs, must be over 20 old cars on the nearby land.
had the previous logs, the sketch and a photo and still could not find it,there's only so long you can spend digging up the roadside in the rain before they come and take you away to a safe place so after a hour gave it up for another day, i will be back.
made a mess of this 1,nearly a hour from start to finish, got there in the end though.

drove up and parked in the car park but was seen wandering around by some workmen working on the mast who insisted on me wearing a safety hat while i was in the area, trig just away from quarry edge and looks safe, managed to get over the fence to confirm this was S2316 and not S2315 (hints hill). seems to be a disagreement below on which direction it as moved, for what it's worth i would say it is slighty north/east of it's original location.

looked like a easy roadside trig not far off route on my journey home from north Wales so nipped over to have a look, no sign of it so i had to ring home for advice from previous logs, lad not impressed with having to log onto computer but once you know you are close you can't let it go can you (or is that just me), anyway no problem once i knew where to look, it is marked up as private but there you go, what can you do.good views from the nice bench and chairs someboby had kindly leave out for my comfort.

Lots of building work going on in the grounds and the trig now as it's own swimming pool, the owner showed me round no problem, he thought it my be the highest place in Essex, told him it was close but not quite, that honour go's to the other side of High wood (walked up there from the nearby church, not recommended, very wet and only for those fools like me trying to do all the historic county tops), no reason to think the trig will not survive the building work.

according to my GPS the trig would now be in the front garden of one of the houses looking out on to the traffic island, sure they could have worked round this or just moved it less than 20 feet.
could not find the two down the road, melbourne common and melbourne fbm aux1, so the hard work of those below saved me from a complete waste of a evening.
nice views over to derby( must be the finest city in the world ).
found the gap in hedge no problem, the reservoir(sk4944779700)is the current county/unitary authority top for rotherham.
easy walk from track
nice walk over fountains fell from the trig on knowe fell keeping to the high ground all the way. the base of this trig is very exposed.
still electric fence in place but no problem getting to trig.
in back garden, could not get answer at house so had a quick look over back fence, suppose to be highest point in newcastle but higher ground behind now near parkland.
9 hours since the cheviot and the last of 5 trigpoints and 6 nuttalls for the day, some mist but still some nice views, even nicer if we ever get back to the car.
very wet in area of trig, good views in all directions.
third tig today and at last the mist is clearing and we have a view, nice in all directions.
just over fence on scottish side of border
trig damaged and no view at all due to mist.path to summit plateau and trig paved in all the wrost boggy areas.
easy walk through farmyard and along footpath.
2 minute walk from road up easy track.
easy walk over a couple of fields from nearby road.
nice walk from nearby viewpoint.good views in all directions.
behind hedge next to lay-by, some graffiti. not a bad view in the fading light
