An impressive structure with references on here of OS records stating some parts destroyed. A careful look at the structure from the ground or a study of the photos reveals the top section appears to be relatively knew. A check of the Internet confirms the tower was renovated for the millennium albeit OS records seem to be much earlier for their system being destroyed. Nice view from the base of the tower that I suspect would be significantly better from the top - hopefully I'll get to revisit at a time when the tower is open. Nice CBM.

(1614) Bolt reported destroyed in the 70s. Those wishing to visit the top, the tower is open to the public from May to September 2pm - 5pm. Admission is £2.50

OS record this destroyed July 1971, presumably on the walk-way at the top, perhaps the tower was re-roofed.
