Alyth Parish Church was built in 1836/9 and is a tall, handsome building of red sandstone. I was walking around Alyth studying its architecture as described in 'The Buildings Of Scotland' (Perth & Kinross) series, or as Nikolaus Pevsner would have said I was taking a 'perambulation'. As I strolled up to the church I didn't expect it to be open, but it was my lucky day for not only was it open, but I was given a tour by its current local historian and church member. Wonderful, informative visit. Churches/interesting buildings that are also intersected stations are a perfect combination.
