Boardmans Heights Reservoir

Approached from south west, turning to north east opposite school at top of Brinscall. Parked at end of lane. Then on foot anti clockwise around the hill. At start of lane to north east went over gate, across field and uphill. A couple of cows in the field. At top saw reservoir compound and double fence. Oh dear. Looked around the south west and south east perimeter but this was very secure indeed. Spotted pillar on top of reservoir but unless you have inside information access would be very difficult. FB faces out but unable to quite make out the number. Possibly need binoculars. On way back down lane spoke to the person in the garden of the house next to the field. Wondered why the fences were so high, apparently to safeguard the water supply in the reservoir. Map names this location as Pike Low.

You can get close enough to see it quite well. But not right up to it as it is in a fenced compound.

o have a smidgeon of exercise,parked near swimming pool in Brinscall,then walked up path through estate.Turned right at top of path onto track past Green Gables.At next house,left up track to small gate next to large locked gate.Then easily along top of field by compound fence to view imprisonerd trig.

As others have said - this trig point is under high security and surveillance so it's only visible from outside of the outer fence. The trig appears to be in good condition and is unpainted

It can't just be water that's in there. The trig point is visible and a photo of the F.B is possible. But no one around today to turn off the power so unreachable it is.

Rode in on access track from SW, then walked security fence perimeter to nearest possible point. Facing FB but eyesight not good enough to read at this distance! Passed two active beehives nearby.

An ordinary trig but with Fort Knox protection, hence high mark! Very fortunate in that gentleman from United Utilities was working on site in outer compound and allowed me access to the inner compound, which meant temporarily switching off power to electrified fence and alarm systems. He mentioned that his boss had allowed access a year or two before to another (presumably Earby Rambler).

Fence has grown since my last visit: 4m electrified fence around the resr itself, enclosed by the older pointy steel fence. Several CCTV cameras. Took the scope up and got a decent FB shot - guess thatll have to do.

did a full circuit to weigh up the best way in and decided it was the east end where a gate is tied to the deadly fence-assured my exit by slinging a bit of duck board under the fence for the later escape at the same point.
