Parked at the community area by the beach and walked up past the caravans and through the field with two ponies. No need for a stile as the fence is flattened where I ascended to the trig, avoiding one crag.

Parked at the small parking area by the beach. Followed the track through the caravan park and to the fence line where climbed the hill from here. More or less the same route back.

On way back, very sweary irate farmer at foot of hill didn't understand right of access - I didn't explain I'd gone for the trig (never do this !)

Taking into account previous comments, this trig was not the easiest to access. Would be easier to access in winter months, on our visit it was a lovely day. Unfortunately the Bracken and ferns were chest height and not easy to go through. In summer months ticks can be present. Trig in good condition.

This wasn't an easy bag, dense forest and bracket and the trig surrounded by trees. If we didn't have os maps open in the app I'm sure we would of missed this. Up through the caravan park, then took a route up hill. Didn't find an easier route down either.

From the caravan park. Farm track to NR 7310 8716 then straight up the hill. 32 min round trip with the bracken all dead. Pillar sits in scrubby woodland so minimal views through tree branches. An original centre cap is retained, raised lettering; LHS sight hole open, front plug degrading. Pillar sports a GPS plate, yet is not in the passive stn dBase - perhaps it was, and was deleted.

Woke early as camping and thought I could fit this in before anyone else was up and about, armed with a previous log which mentioned a style and a path, off I went parking at Carsaig bay and walking up past the cemetery, through the static camp site and through the farm gate. After that I would like to say it was all plain sailing, however I couldn't find a style and didn't fancy heading up through the ferns towards the crag, so I went along to the second gate, headed up the stream slightly before it and found a sort of path up through the head height ferns to the wooded area, I then picked my way through the holey wood and eventually found the trig point. Tried to head off in another direction but ended up next to very step drop so decided to retrace my steps. Took about 2 hours I think, I though it was another 5 minute job!

Roadside parking available at NR735877. Followed mapped track past cemetery and through caravan park to farm gate at NR732872. Then WNW along boundary, over style and straight up steep rocky fern clad slope. This secondary marker was computed for triangulation and levelled for height in 1960. This pillar is now fitted with a GPS plaque and remains in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with raised large narrow letters. Flush bracket faces 141° (SE). Vented through SW sight hole. Views long since lost to surrounding trees.
