Up the Insh Community Woodland footpath then easy angled tracks all the way to the pillar. Glad I kept this one back, thinking it might be a good one to do in winter if weather was too extreme to do bigger hills - however today it was too extremely hot (!!!) to do anything else. A cool, shady woodland walk was just perfect in 28 degree heat. Too hot even for flies, result!

Parked at the end of the road (Balnascriten) and followed the main track until we spotted a mountain bike track heading (NH 83056 00758) in the right direction for the trigpoint. Followed this all the way to the top and down the main track to the car.

Unfortunately as it is surrounded by trees, there is no view at all, it's quite an anticlimax and probably the least interesting part of the circular walk.

Parked just past Insh house, then walked the Ballintean road until passing Uath Lochan then forest tracks. Weather good.... flies not good! Pillar good condition. Most of the forest has been culled which not so good...but there was some amazing views back over toward Kincraig because of it!

Attacked by 100's of flies here so shot not great!

Mountain biking path runs SE along wall from trig point. I used track East/West thru' wood which was boggy and partially obstructed by fallen trees. Found mountain bike track on return and assume it runs all the way down the wall to Corarnstilbeg. IF you do take the track East/West, be sure to choose the left hand junction at NN 828 995 towards the wall to avoid felled forestry and a narrow band of trees.
