Badly damaged! Looks like concrete rot, but at least most of the metalwork is in tact. From good parking are on Crow Road, just N of Alnwick Bridge (NS 6242 8083). Small wooden bridge across the burn and a gate in the deer fence... very civilized way to start a walk. Lecket Hill -> Cort-ma Law East Top -> Cort-Ma Law trig -> Lecket Hill -> car. Centre cap is missing, an asphalt plug seals the tube; FB is of the 'BSM' style; rear sight hole open. Extensive panoramic views.

Our first foray into the Campsies. Approached from the Crow Road car park, an enjoyable hike until the mist decided to descend during our ascent. It was so bad that we actually contemplated abandoning the walk a few times however at least with it being breezy the mist was swirling around and thankfully it lifted just as we were approaching the summit. Although it was too claggy to appreciate the views fully we were still impressed with the extent of the views which were visible to us. Poor trig is in a state though in its crumbling, mossy, graffiti'd state of disrepair :-(

The satellite dish has gone but the mounting still points due South - the Wag that added it knew which way to point it for Sky! Wasps were crawling all over the lil feller today - and DO stick to the path... I tried to save some time cutting across the boggy bits due West of the Trig - Doh! Smashing views en route.. a pity about the (g)lowering clouds, with a pilots-eye view of clouds skudding and dropping their loads over the central belt. One to keep for a clear day! :D

As per the earlier log, the satellite dish is still there although the conduit and cable is just wound round the dish now. FB faces south-ish, only the north-ish sighthole is open. Views are excellent over Glasgow with good intervisibility to other Campsie pillars including Holehead, Meikle Bin, Earl's Seat and Tomtain. Approached from car park to the west. For the Campsies, amazingly good path with no real sphagnum wading! Just follow the path past all the cairns to avoid wet feet.
