Had the opportunity today to go and meet the lovely Mary and Ken and see their very own pillar. Absolutely brilliant

I was in the neighbouring village of Urchfont on a family taxi-run, and checked this website to see whether there were any trigs in the locality I may have missed. I was fairly certain I had logged all the pillars hereabouts, when to my pleasant surprise I noticed this unique and previously unvisited pillar. I received a very warm welcome from Ken & Mary, and Ken explained the making and the craftmanship involved. It is a fabulous creation, and I particularly liked the steps at the back in order to make it easier to climb it! We had a fine discussion on various aspects of trigpointing. This was such a lovely visit - many thanks Ken & Mary.

The pillar is located in the front garden of Ken and Mary Crittle, at 16 Ladywood, Market Lavington, Wilts. They are amenable to visitors calling to view the pillar that Ken designed and constructed in an extremely professionally manner. The metalwork was made initially in wood and after cast in bronze. The numbers on the FB and spider are all relevant to Ken and Mary's life dates.
