Walked up the track from the top of Loch Creran. Then over the ridge to the summit. Blowing a hooley so didn't stay long on top.

vgc, Vanessa, no cap or plug. In shelter cairn. Great view, wonderful Autumn afternoon, crisp and clear. From WNW, forest track, past 1st hairpin a path heads straight up then stops. Brief fight thru young spruce to tussocky ground which improves with height. Fine hill: followed ridge NE over various Corbett- and Graham Tops, Sgulaird, Stob Gaibhre then descended to Glen Ure and followed farm track back to start.

HISTORY: Pillar completed 23rd May 1959 costing £8.16s.3d. computed as secondary triangulation station NM52/25 within the Mull block during 1960. Levelled for height also in 1960. Last maintained by the OS in June 1980. SITE VISIT: Parked in wide forest entrance at NN004443. Followed mapped track to ~NN010444, then SSE straight up though woods, over deer fence, onto Meall nan Caorach, Meall Garbh and SW to the summit of Creach Bheinn. Paths discontinuous in places. Open Mountain summit in North Argyll. Secondary station Vanessa in good condition. Completed 23rd May 1959 costing £8.16s.3d. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces 266° west. Vented through north sight hole. Spectacular 360° panorama includes Ben Vevis.
