From Durness. Gate locked at compound but nobody around. Followed the fence to the left and it stops just before the cliffs so easy to get round. Then over a wire sheep fence to the top. Trig nicely painted also fb painted white.

3rd visit and each previous time I've not logged as the Ops Base has been in use, but this time I'll log it. Try again on the next holiday to get to the trig.

007 style trig bagging! Pillar has all fixings and is structurally sound. Thick coat of white paint. Wet and windy. Did not hang about! I'm sure Nicholas Crane from popular long-running BBC series Coast has been here. Bet he didn't hurt his goolies getting in though!! Walked up from Balnakiel.

As on MOD property and there were personnel on the site unable to actually visit the Trig. I'm sure the Royal Navy are looking after it!

Is That a Trig point I see There is the trigpoint behind the MOD fence so no access

Access gate to MOD site locked but pillar visible from fence. A great walk round Faraid head with some stunning coastline to be seen. Visited the Puffin colony on the walk back to Balnakeil. A beautiful place slightly spoiled by the MOD eyesore on the headland.

Friendly GOMLs from military firing range, gate unlcoked but range busy with NATO exercises. Advised that access not possible on firing days but no objections to access on other days, will come back when they aren't shelling.

Nobody about today so climbed over the gate and made a discrete visit. Had been here in the 80's in pre-fence days. Great cliffs.

Walked out across the beach and sand dunes from the car park near to the golf course. Trig inaccessible as it was on MOD property (viewing station for bombardment area on Cape Wrath) behind high fencing and locked gates. Trig clearly visible from a nearby cairn which was the consolation prize.

Sutherland. I walked out through the dunes on a blustery day to reach this headland. The trigpoint is near the army firing-range control building and is painted white all over except for the flush bracket.

Pleasant afternoon walk from Durness. Could pick out Stack Skerry in the far distance. (re visit 13/07/2019) now you can't get near it as its in MOD area. Can be seen from cairned summit to the southeast.
