Parked at the start of the footpath and followed the same route as many others, up the ROW and around the top of the field on the track. On my return to the ROW I was stopped my the landowner, many apologies later and a chat about things i continued to the path. The long and the short of it is that they kindly request that everybody stays on the footpath. If people want a picture of the trig then they can take a picture from the footpath. They have had wanton vandalism of footpath signs, gates and fences when they have tried to keep people on the path. The area has a problem with roe deer and muntjac so shooting is happening all year round in and around the woods. They have also have items used for pest control destroyed by people. If people are trespassing then they cannot be responsible for any accidents. I asked for the name of the farm so people can ask, this was refused as if the public see anyone on the track to the trig then they think they can go there as well without asking permission. Once again they kindly ask people not to trespass and to take a picture from the footpath.

As other logs, muddy footpath up to the track, then head west along the track, the trig is in the hedge.

Bit of a faff finding this one. I gained permission to walk up from what I believed was the landowner. Turns out not so much as I went down the wrong farm track. Which explains his confusion but none the less he granted me access so I went a very very long way around the neighbouring farm back of the woods, round the woods and back down onto the trig. No farmer to be seen to ask permission and I was banking on the fact they likely knew the neighbouring farmer and would accept id asked permission there. As it turns out if you get the right farm track it's only a very short walk from the gate. Hey ho a Bedfordshire adventure

Small lay-by on north side of road at start of footpath about half a mile north east of Lavendon. Along field edge for about 150 metres then wooded, muddy path for another hundred or so metres then field edge. Fairly shallow climb. Where path turns west, headed straight on to a track running east to west, past a tree with a notice on it. East along track for about two hundred metres. Past water tank on north side of track, track bears south. Looked into field to east then south along track, pillar about twenty five metres south of the bend on east side of the track in the hedge. I blame the mist for hiding the pillar on the approach. Spider and cap in place. No views at the time due to mist.

Walked footpath off Harrold Rd. passing through a copse which opens out to a wide verge.trig can be seen from here on other side of field. Followed field edge to it. Short trespass.

Parked on Harrold road at southern end of footpath. Walked north on footpath towards Lavendon Wood. Short detour from footpath along edge of wood passing a very large tank to trig point in hedge. Lots of private Signs.

Parked on Harrold Rd to S. Followed RoW N then field boundaries (passing 'Private - Keep Out' sign) to pillar nestling in a thorn hedgerow. Access from W side for ease and flush bracket (which faces E). Becoming subsumed into the hedgerow; the trusty folding pruning saw and secateurs saw action today! Pillar has retained the original centre cap, deeply indented lettering; all sight holes sealed, rear plug degrading. Bit of a chunk missing from one top corner but otherwise good. Farmland views to E & W.

Vgc with spider & cap in place tucked away in hedge. Be careful if you approach this from the east side of the hedge like I did because as well as electric wire around the bird coup by the side of the field there is also a fox snare that I nearly put my foot through.

Hedge location - walked up from road round three fields due to crops, probably on private ground, however gate was open and I respected the crops, and farm house is a long way away, ;-) - Pillar good condition

This one is on private land, but as far as terrain goes, is dead easy to get to. The pillar is embedded in a hedge right by the main farm track across the land. Blink and you'll miss it.
