Continuing our circular walk on this horrible windy day from Moorhouse Hall we approached the farm along the country lanes. Managed to find the farmer who was happy for me to carry on up his land to the pillar. Fought against the head wind up through the fields to pillar which is embedded in the hedge with minimal views. Back down and through Oulton Moss and back to the car. Onto the easy nearby roadside trig next.

Spoke to some of the farmers as I went up the lane to the farm and they pointed me in the right direction. Go through the farm, over the cattle grid and go up the ridge along the path, following the hedge. The trig is in the hedge on the right hand side as you approach the gap in the hedge into the next field. It is quite hard to see from the south side (where the flush bracket is) unless you know where to look as it is in the middle of the hedge. Before the gap to the next field there are two gates on the right hand side. Use either of these and walk along the north side of the hedge. The trig is in the hedge as you get close to the corner of the field. You can then retrace your steps along the south side to see the FB. I have only rated this a 5 due to the difficulty in finding it.

Walked from Wigton railway station via Moorhouse Hall trig point. Locating the pillar difficult from farm track but found after spotting it from the field side. Best to visit in winter when vegetation has died back. Removed thorn and nettles to allow photo of the FB, but left the gorse. Then continued walk towards Kirkbride.
