Second Mull trig of the day after lunch in Salen. Came around the forest track, along track in grass and under electric wires to pillar. In good condition, original cap, lovely spot...apart from horse flies! Back to Carnpark along the rocky coast, crossing some nice dykes jutting towards sea.

Drove the forest road to park ~110m SW of the pillar (NM 6653 4222). Short muddy walk through woodland to shoreline, fortunately tide hadn't come up too far and an easy step across marshy grass onto the wee tidal island. Surprised at finding a Vanessa to sea-level. Original centre cap retained, raised lettering; sight holes not checked. Extensive views across the Sound of Mull.
