I parked to the north-west and used Telegraph Lane and paths to reach the pillar. Seemed to be in good condition although the plug is missing and the top is open to the elements. The pillar has also acquired a Memorial Plaque. It was a glorious Good Friday and the place was heaving with people enjoying the walking and the views that these Downs allow. On the way back down Telegraph Lane I bought some of Henry's eggs and they were absolutely delicious.

Parked at national trust car park and walked just over the mile to the trig. Steep hill to the top but with nice view once you get there. Just goes to show how small the world can be though. Once we got to the top there was a couple who we had met the week before in our village who were just out for a walk. Tig in good condition.

I can see why the official route of the SDW skirts round the bottom of this hill - quite a hike up it and very windy on top, but what views! Good circular walk through the Hartings and Treyford before returning along the Downs. Trig in good condition.
