In Remberance. Knew it had gone to the great trig maker in the sky but was en-route to The Heights trig and made a minor detour to pass the location. ted - seems perfectly normal to me !!

Short detour up the field to check for signs of the base; nothing found. Some might consider it odd to be out in the rain, looking for something that you know isn't there 8-)

Brown Hill OS Huddersfield Sheet 102 One-Inch 1954 edition. Note also the station symbol at the crossroads to SW of Brown Hill. This was Shuttle-Eye colliery; seems unlikely that there was ever a pillar there; bolt on pit-head perhaps? All gone now; shafts filled-in 1992.
