TP1781 - Burngate Resr

NO sign but nice walk.
Couldn't find this one - it's supposed to be in the reservoir compound but we found no sign of it. OS list the FB as S6078
Looked all round at reservoir but no evidence now of pillar. Reservoir looked as though it had been rebuilt not too many years back.
Missing first trig from start of Southdown Challenge walk with Joe. There was a metal cover in it's place.
Not on latest OS but on 1970 Sheet 178
Had a deserved pint in the pub after this! No sign of it in the compound - and no guns today!
Arable field, covered reservoir, no trace of trig. Failed to access Lulworth Ranges too. Then forgot to log this visit until Feb07 - not one of my better days ! Only visit I am aware of was 09/08/1993, sadly not be me.
Walking back from Chaldon Down towards Daggers Gate Burngate reservoir is visible in the distance. It looked like there was some kind of lump on top which could be a trig so we headed for it. Closer inspection revealed this to be some sort of green control panel with a small aerial on top. I walked completely around the twin reservoir compound then hopped the gate and had a look on top. Definitely no trig. I must take better note of other users comments in future (it was a nice walk though)! Excellent views of the Dorset coast. The OS give the FB no as S6078.
Good views, but no sign of the trig point
Walked right around the reservoir (the field had been ploughed but nothing was growing). No sign whatsoever. Good views of Arish Mell / Lulworth Camp, and while I was there, the boys were playing with their tank guns. BANG!
