Lane too snowy for car (Kim tried to push uphill unsucessfully) Had to walk. Trig just off the carpark

Too dark to describe any view, but the surrounding trees suggest there isn't much to speak of anyway.

Metalwork in good condition, stone weathering well but in need of a paint job

A nice quick find very close to the parking area, Trig missing its plug and remnants of the white paint remaining, no views as such due to the trees, shame about all the rubbish strewn around, a good spot for a CITO or will it all be back within a week

Pillar a bit scruffy but what would you expect in this location. No over night parking, someone should tell the gypsies who are camped there. Back on bike and off to Glacier Boulder.

Yet another trigpoint with its own carpark. Lots of fly tipping. Walked on to Castle Ring.

One of the scruffiest I've seen. No views, surrounded by trees. Top plug missing. Trig used as a vase. Bagged on a detour from a mtb-ing day out at Cannock Chase - rode the Follow the Dog red route.

Easily accessible, close to a car park. Views restricted by trees.
26th Aug 2010 14:38 by Sven
Pretty uninteresting. Adjacent to carpark no views as the trees have grown to block them since the pillar was located. Usual damage for a publically accessed trig.
7th Aug 2010 17:06 by gushoneybun
A little worse for wear but structually fine, I rested my GPS in the top hole and before I knew it there were ants everywhere. Also a YOSM.

A short walk from the adjacent car park. This one could do with a good going over with a wire brush and a new coat of paint as itís looking a bit sorry for itís self. The centre plug has been removed leaving a GPSr swallowing hole in the top. Itís surrounded by trees and bushes so there are no views to speak of. There was a rose and a ĎFatherís Dayí card from a lass (or boy?) named Sue on top today.

Had a chunk of monkey puzzle tree sticking out of the top - almost festive for the time of year! On the way to orienteering at Beaudesert Park (this one is on the orienteering map).

Dead easy to find this one, right next to the car park, as other posts have noted. Loads of cyclists in car park.

GPS notice has been defaced. Spent 90mins here in the snow, marshalling for the annual Trig Points race, involving 15 miles and 4 Cannock Chase trigs. Some photos...

Nice car park nearby, with 50m walk. Plate saying 'don't hurt me because I'm a passive station'. Plastic plug. Otherwise OK. Public

A quick dash from the car to look at the trig and the view.

Somke nice views over Cannock Chase from near the pillar, but not from the pilalr itself. The pillar is adjacent to a littel car park, whichmenas that the area is a littel too visited for its own good.

All intact except the plug that is now replaced by a plastic insert. Busy area, nearby carpark full and a shed load of litter from a scummer's firework party. The vermin were also using the pillar as a launch pad. OS GPS plaque still on.
