I was very pleased to find a (relatively) dry route to this given previous logs. Just on the seaward side of the cattle grid at Vaivoe there is an earth bank running along the inside of the fence. Follow this W, NW and NNE to about 100m before the high point. Hop over the fence to the left and round the north side of the peat bank for about 125m. Cylindrical pillar in peaty area with much cutting evident. FB faces E; N sighthole open, all others closed; original top with raised letters. Nice views from here including Out Skerries and the lighthouse (TP9662), and a view SW of the replacement for the Suther Ness lighthouse (TP9661).

High winds and salt laden air reduced the visibilty and prevented this trig from getting a better and deserved higher score from this visit. Many abandoned peat banks between the road and the trig point as well as soggy conditions underfoot. Maybe not so bad for the time of year.

Quick trip up to this whilst on Whalsay for work. Very wet approach and near gale conditions made it interesting, views interesting as usual for Shetland

Took a gps reading as the trig seems to be a few metres from highest bit of ground.
