A surprisingle pleasant spot in the winter sun with views to the Black Mountains. Didn't think I should hang around on the bench as it's not a footpath - but I can see why they put it there.
Easy acces from a farm gate at side of the road, the trig is a few meters inside the field. Parking easy across the road. Pillar is getting overgrown with small thorn trees growing immediately next to it making clearing the undergrowth difficult (note to self - put some secateurs in my pack). Pillar is in good condition, original metal plug present. Some views, but nothing too interesting.
An easy hop over gate and found among undergrowth at edge of field. A diversion off my route from Worcester to Cardiff en route to visit friends in Llanelli.
Bench still there. Felt a bit exposed with the house nearby but had no trouble.
rusty bench cleared back thorn tree and ivy
Almost a roadside pillar. Parked at road junction and entered field (with chickens) to reach pillar. In good condition with original plug. An unremarkable location but pillar survives.
logged a visit whilst on our 23 counties geocacjing tour
Easy bag on my way back from revisiting the fabulous snow covered Sugar Loaf.Park in layby opposite easy gate. There was a large snowman by gate & there's a park bench next to the trig. Some ivy growing on one side.Nice views north but visibility affected by it snowing today.
Parking close by and then just a hope over the gate to the trig and loverly views. For some reason somebody had painted faces on a number of tree trunk slices, a couple of which had been placed on top of the trig.
Easy parking and easy access over 1 gate.
nice parking, nice gate, nice TP
Fantastic views of many of my favorite mountains to the west and north west. It's certainly easy to point out a few trigs from here. Access couldn't be easier.
Easy to find with easy access. Good view.
Easy access. Plug with heavily indented letering.
Getting easier, layby opposite gate that opens up trig under 50m away with good views to the NW
Easy find, lovely views to Sugar Loaf, access no problem.
Pleasant enough rural Monmouthshire - not exactly a spectacular summit though.
