TP2582 - Creswell
3rd Jan 2013 11:03 by Sven
Took previous baggers' advice to seek permission and knocked on the Creswell Farm's door. Had chat with farmer's wife, I think she viewed me with vague interest but she was pleasant. Very muddy across fields and noisy on the east side of the M6. Trig at top of partially ploughed field. Good views all around. Fellow bagger's boot sole got sucked off in the glutinous mud.

A moderate walk across muddy fields and under the motorway to reach the trig. A good trig, with decent views all around. As Sven mentioned; having one functioning boot made the mud even more challenging! :)

I've passed this way many times, but been put of by the difficulties of access. Having read the previous log, I enquired and received permission at Cresswell Farm. It is then an easy and obvious route across their fields, under the M6 and left upto the pillar next to a hedge at the obvious high point. Views out to Stafford Castle, Cannock Chase, The Wrekin and the Clee Hills.

was just about to nip over the gate and make my way over the fields when I noticed a man taking pictures of my car as he walked over to ask what i was up to,he sent me to the nearby farm as he was sure the trig was on their land, they informed me the trig is on land belonging to creswell farm so it was back in the car and a trip down the A5013,the very nice couple there pointed me in the right direction down the farm track heading north east and then under the motorway which brings you straight to the field with the trig in,easy when you know how, good views.

Good views only spoiled by the roar of traffic from th M6. Parked off road west of M6 flyover by Whitgreave. Walked back towards Whitgreave and over a gate just before Grange farm and over three fields. Along time since previous log.

In a hedge, overlooking the M6. Quite a long stretch over private fields to reach it. I resisted the temptation to fake a breakdown on the hard shoulder and then pop over the fence!Original plug, OK condition. Private
