Revisit for better photographs. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces ESE, ~119°. Vented through three sight holes, NE plugged, innards part filled with debris, bolt just viewable. 360° panorama with some very long views. New GPSr = 508m NS 04949 93847.

vgc, no cap or plug; grassy hill. From NE, track to e.g. 058940 then grassy rushy climb. Last of the day; wet evening, no view.

Parked by track entrance at NS067947 on A886. Followed mapped track to NS057938 then westwards across open ground in as staight a line as bogs would permit. Pillar completed 20th June 1956 costing £59.4s.3d and still in good condition. Spider centre open. FB faces 119° (SE). Three horizontal sight holes open, NE face plugged. Tertiary station in Block NS29, Greenock. No views due to very poor weather conditions.

Quick afternoon ascent after a wet morning on Stob an Eas. Hill surrounded by forestry but summit is clear. Trig, normal concrete pyramid.
