Wet and very windy. Approach from Ramsden Reservoir (drained at the moment) was a boggy slog. Then over to Snailsden - more bog. Dead Edge Sporting a thick coat of paint - who paints these things?
Dead Edge Flush bracket, Snailsden has consecutive number.

vgc, old brown resin plug. By fence corner, tussocky moorland summit, unexciting view. Track from E marked 'No Access' back in 2002 - no probs post CRoW Act. Old building at SE135001, path heads W past deep rushes, then up onto plateau - worth following.

On bleak moor, by a county boundary fence. Good condition, stone plug. Open Access land Public. Did it with Snailsden and South Nab, a real slog, but a superb day. Goodness knows what the place is like when it's REALLY wet!
A dead trig?

Approched from Winscar Reservoir, up Dearden Clough and then due West following the county boundary fence along the ridge. This makes for ease of navigation in bad weather but is not otherwise recommended except to masochists!

Plastic plug; 3 sighting holes open.
Approached from Holme Moss by following the fence
which marks the county boundary; a bit wet
in places but straightforward.
Sombre moorland.
Views of the northern edge of the Peak District,
Longdendale, Holme Moss, Huddersfield and
Royd Moor wind farm. Dead Edge End view north towards Snailsden

pleasant moorld summit, wide view. Made a point of checking, there's nothing significantly higher than the FB so it's not a Dewey 500er.
