First bag of day 3 of 6 of our SE England hill and trig bagging tour. Bagged this as driving away from the Youth Hostel. Convenient car park a short distance south of the trig on the minor road. Trig is located in middle of a rough pasture. Followed the path through the small wooded area to the field boundary, hopped over the b/w fence then across the field to the pillar. Good condition, good views.

Like others I used the upper car park to the south. Then followed a path through the woodland to the field boundary. Crawled under the barbed wire fence and walked up the field - which is non cultivated - to the pillar. It is in very good condition and still retains ina indented lettered plug. Yet another lovely view point.

Good views over the Adur valley. Pillar looks in good condition, just a bit weathered.

Had to squeeze under bard wire fence to access this one. Cleared vegetation growing over flush bracket. Lots of activity at nearby Shoreham Airfield.

Cows are no longer in this field, so able to get to pillar easily, good condition and all fittings intact. Also found WWII 0.303" spent cartridge of British manufacture dated 1941.

Approach to this one was across a cow pasture from Mill Hill Car Park. No cows in the field, just the 'evidence' under foot. The pillar is in good condition, although the ground has risen slightly, so I had the scrape some soil away to get a good view of the flush bracket.

The pillar is in the middle of a field with barbed wire around it. The view from the nearby Mill Hill Car Park is very good: Shoreham Airport, Lancing College, and the sea beyond Hove and Shoreham.
