Parked same place as others, quick jog up pasture to trig. Unfortunately Man City scored 2 goals against Sunderland in the 5 mins I was out of the car, levelling the match. Bummer.

FOLLOWING THE ROAD FROM THORNTON YOU ARE GOING DOWNHILL! CLIMBED OVER RUBBLE ON TOP OF THE INFILLED RAILWAY CUTTING THEN FINALLY UPHILL ACROSS FIELD. IT'S SITING THEN BECOMES MORE UNDERSTANDABLE ON A HILL SPUR OUT INTO THE VALE OF PICKERING.

If you approach this one along the lane from Thornton le Dale, it does not look to be a very exciting location, but then the view suddenly opens up in the last few yards. You can see the rollercoaster at Flamingoland and Knapton Maltings.
