Well as the Cyclist has noted there is a problem with the way the footpath enters the field. It doesnt do it at the point where the map says it does! I happened to bump into the farmer and he said that as far as he is concerned, the footpath now goes through the gate, and indeed it has been designed with a suitable lock mechanism for walkers and ramblers. So there you have it.. mystery solved.

Remnants of stile in hedge but no fingerpost to footpath. It is better to use large gate and up grass field, currently resident to sheep and lambs.

Approached this one from the northeast, over a stile in the hedge. Couldn't make out the path southwest to the trig, but trig easy to find nonetheless.
