Parked in entrance of track to the res. A short walk to the trig which is on NE corner of res.fence. Trig in good cond. with good views to N and W. (Second reservoir trig of the day...other one at Bradmer Hill 582 665).

I approached via the footpath rather than the track up to the reservoir compound, not realising I was wandering into the firing range of some pigeon shooters hiding in a hedge. They missed me but the birds didn't fare so well.

As you walk up the track it looks to be another improsined trig ((C) Haggis Hunter) but its escaped from the reservoir and made it to the outside!

Pillar in good condition except Plug replaced by plastic insert. Nice easy access - pillar is just outside reservoir fence. Views good though a little bit misy today.

Ajdacent to the Golden Hill Severn-Trent reservoir [and the mobile-phone mast!]. The plug has now been replaced by a plastic insert. E sighthole open, others closed. Traces of paint visible. Lovely views N/NW over Sherwood Forest from here. Easy access, just off a lane.

Walk with Old Man and Sis#2 from Wellow via Kirton and Ollerton. Good job the reservior is here otherwise this trig could well have been consumed by the surrounding brickworks and quarry. Trig largely complete and with some views over Sherwood Forest but we weren't convinced it deserved the name Golden Hill!
