TP4387 - Leafield Clump
Logged Visits:
Over the field gate between tow houses 100m south of the pillar. Permission from house no problem. Not much left of the 'clump' - two trees and one snapped one. Pillar OK, reservoir close by
End of a circular walk via Ramsden, Finstock and Wychwood on a lovely sunny day. Access now tricky as gate is padlocked and in full view of immediately adjacent houses. Having come all this way I was brave enough to climb it (without challenge) but Old Man declined to join me! Found trig with good all round views; plinth is heavily eroded by cattle, trig missing plug or cap, NE s/hole open but otherwise vgc.
Re visit to photograph. Foggy conditions but no cattle today.
There were so many lively cattle around this (that later chased me out of field) that I only got to within 25ft.Due to lack of photos may have to return for more! Pillar appears in good condition.
Access no problem. Pleasant location.
Nice and easy gap between the upper line of houses east of the pub
Top of this one visible from the road as I cycled past it.
The field gate is between the houses just before you get to The Fox public house. Nice sparse clump of mature trees wuth good views. Plug missing.
vgc; no cap - Access: via field gate between houses; no probs Mon a.m.
