vgc, metal cap, deep letters. Nice pasture summit, lovely view. Stormy wind but stayed dry for brief ascent.
Lovely little top with great views all around .Pillar in good shape.Same approach as Rhayader quite surprised to find good parking as its usually a real pain up these lanes.
Lathama covered the trig details so I'll take parking. Following the road from Howey over the top as you get within 1km there is a cattle grid good parking by a gate just east of this and a direct ascent via a small open gulley hides you from the farm buildings. Great views on an open grassy top.
Panoramic views. Plug with heavily indented lettering.
What a great spot! Fantastic views in all directions from here. The pillar is all intact with the central plug and all four holes are free and see-through. The north face of the pillar is very slightly weathered and a bit irregular and there is some moss on this face and on the top of the pillar. Much paint left on the east and north faces, very little on the others. Concrete base projects about 8" above grass level and is abit rounded off on the corners. Great spot! |
