Very windy out today especially heading back to the car. Good views lovely day. See my dad was the last one here.

Lovely location and very accessible with car park close by. The management of the area is being reviewed and the first public drop in meeting was to take place at the trig point just 5 minutes after my visit. Ranger and City Council man on hand to do the business. The latter was cheery, the former seemed to want to be elsewhere.

Easy access and very visible. I parked on the Loxley to Worrall road in the parking area. Followed a good surfaced path which led directly to the pillar. No views to speak of surrounded by scrubland but still a pleasant recreatonal area. Nicely painted white with plastic plug. [Visited again on 09.09.09 whilst walking in the area with my walking group, The Irregulars, LDWA. Took some pictures this time. Think red paint and graffiti have been added since my last visit.]

I parked on the roadside pull in but a car park does exist (free) 200m closer. Area is subject to active managment and I had several near misses on tripping over felled birch remains. Trig itself is on a path and very white

Plastic plug cover; two sighting holes open; some graffiti but could be worse for location on edge of the city. Jumble of gritstone boulders and silver birch.
