Mast country, but getting far enough away from the motorway to have a peaceful feel. Walked up from Magdelene Hill. Cattle in rough field around the trig.
Cover had been stolen.

Grazing top occupied by long haired bullocks. Pillar VGC. Spider centre now open. Checked my handwritten log for 1991, the OS plug was definitely extant then. FB faces 4°, north. Back & RHS sighting holes open, LHS part open, front plugged. View includes Binn Hill, East Lomond, West Lomond, Balmanno Hill, Craig Rossie, Craig Obney, Bandirran Hill, Kings Seat, Kinnoull hill, Moncreiffe Hill. S6012 built 6th April 1950. Secondary station in Block NO02, Perth. Photographed 1/10/2005, GRP. S6012 - Mailer Hill Montage (GRP)

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 6th April 1950 costing £13.10s.8d. In 1951 this marker was computed for triangulation as secondary station NO02/13 in the Perth block. Flush bracket S6012 was levelled for height also in 1951. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in October 1982. Spider retains stamped font plug. No photos taken.
