Continuation of our walk from the White Buck in Burley back to Holmsley. Easy to access from W - great intervis back to Dur Hill, but otherwise rather flat heathland and the noise of the road behind. Asphelt cap and W s/hole open but otherwise vgc.

Beware if walking/cycling in the area - the underpass under the A35 just north-east of the trig is often flooded!

Some of the trigs round here seem to have ridiculously high scores. Markway Flat would be a far more appropriate name.

Located in a field close to the A35. There is a parking area close by. The trigpoint is accessed by going through some bushes and over a wire fence. TP4667 TP4667 - Markway Hill©Alan Grove

vgc, asphalt plug. In low heathland, behind gorse, 20m NW of road. Pull-in opposite, approx at highest point of road. Soon afterwards the rain arrived and drove me home, via S5544.

Third T/P of my day out with Motley Crew. Hopped over the fence... Well, probably fell over actually. The pillar is in good condition apart from the missing plug so I'll mark it as 'slightly damaged'. The heathland it's situated in is pretty enough (for heathland) but not what you'd call exciting. As others have said, this is a bit further from the road than it looks on the OS map. No problem with it though, views are nice up here. Did this one on a slight diversion from the walk to a nearby geocache.

The map made me sure this was going to be roadside but it is a tad further inland than that. A quick hop over the fence and through some rabbit/horse/sheep tracks in the heather and I was there.

Close to the busy A35 unfortunately. My feet and legs were soaked by the wet knee-high heather despite my attempt at keeping to paths and animal tracks. GR to 10m only. TP4667
TP4667 The condition appears good, apart from the missing plug.

No 6 for today. Hot work cycling around now that summer has finally arrived.
Nothing spectacular about the site.
My visit coincided with pony roundup time and I felt that I had to dive into the gorse to avoid being stampeded. Exciting stuff!
