Given this one a low(ish) score of 4/10, as I'd normally rather be up on the hills than faffing about on the roadside. That said, it was rather tiddling down this particular Sunday morning, so hillwalking wasn't a great attraction.
fantastic spot . About 200 yards back from the layby on the opposite side of the road
Was staying at the Cluanie Inn,so after a morning walk up Ciste Dhubh i wandered along the A87 to this FBM which is roughly a mile down the road towards Shiel Bridge. An excellent location with a great backdrop but wouldn't recommend walking on the road,it's pretty scary!
Easy, roadside find.
Across road from small fenced enclosure, now has red and white triangle sign on it found by road side hope you spot it easyly
Can be seen from road when travelling west. As it was quiet was able to pull over onto grass by FBM. Off road parking on north side of A87 about 200 metres further west.
My first ever FBM :o) Safe parking 100 metres along the road to Shiel Bridge. If only the Dornie FBM was as easy to find....
Can't believe how many 5's in the logs below!! What an awesome place. You dont get backdrops like that with pillars :) Easy one to find, although the snow pole mentioned in one log below has now gone. Opposite a small fenced enclosure if that helps.
Parking just to the west and a simple walk back
Easy to find, but not too many views, its ****ing down. Standard concrete block
Nice easy road side job with some stunning scenes about. Just past the Cluanie Inn on the road to Skye with views to the South Shiel Ridge. 26 degrees up there today, hot one and windy into the bargin so no midges! Perfect.
standard FBM. No railings or height label. S of road by snow-pole road-edge marker |
