Parked beside Pheasant pub then took footpath between resr and cricket pitch.Good views over Barnsley.

Splashed with red paint. Metal work all present but rings broken. Good view over Barnsley, easy access via footpath next to pub in Monk Bretton.

Good view towards Barnsley & Oakwell footie stadium. Trig OK but somewhat weather beaten & graffiti battered. Last one of 17 miler starting at Wombwell. No cars, on foot!

Approached via footpath from east. Good views over Barnsley. A bit graffitied. Plug with raised lettering.

vgc, paint-streaked, metal cap with wide raised letters has had ?solder poured onto it, by path between febces of resr & cricket ground, good view W over Barnsley

I agree that it is a surprise that the plug has remained intact on this one given all the other abuse the trig seems to have suffered. It looks like its been in a slapstick show with red and white paint poured over it. My first time in Barnsley and its true – everyone speaks like Michael Parkinson.

One sighting hole open; plug intact but splashed with paint. This would be a good spot if it wasn't for the graffiti and broken glass scattered around. Scenic views of Barnsley.
