Logged Visits:
Went to within 500m on PROW. Access from the SW disrupted by house building - the FP has been moved, but no problems.
Logged to stop the dot on the interactive map from being blue....
Nothing to add - long gone
Revisited for photos. Ploughed field: unsurprisingly found no trace of pillar. A track follows most of perimeter of field: no sign of trig. The track comes in from the S (via the b/way), but couldnt see it dumped along there either, although there are plenty of scrubby hiding places and a fair bit of scattered concrete. Also one big concrete block that looked interesting from a distance! Visited Uppings Farm: a farm worker in one of the cottages confirmed it is their land, but knew nothing of trig. Farmer lives in larger house at far end: not at home; name is Pete Lear (spelling?). Original FB number added for completeness.
Approached from the footpath running SW from A413 then made my way across fields. A very remote spot, this. The pillar is on my OS map but there is no sign of it in real life!
Same as Rhayader.No visible sign.
Access only to within 500m on PROW and clearly gone from observations with binoculars. Saw no real excuse to access further so headed on to better points
14/3/03 not seen from W side of strm; Sep2003 searched stubble field without trace (grid ref suggests in field, not hedge); still on 25k+50k; - Access:from A413, tk SW then W then NW to open field. 1/3/06 trig no longer shown on OS getamap 1:25k or 1:50k. FB given by OS as S4761.
Pillar with some white paint remaining in middle of recently cut field. Access across fields from end of farm road off A413. Sun setting so everything had a pinkish hue. |
