Visited while geocaching in the area.
No problem finding this trigpoint once I'd crawled through the hedge.
Joint visit with Carole. We parked at the gateway to the north near the farm but this got us to the wrong side of the hedge. We should have parked at the gate way slightly to the west for better access and to save a crawl through the hedge. Anyway once reached the pillar is in good condition and still retains a metal plug.
On NW side of hedge
Logged as YOSM whilst at the nearby MEGA Event
I agree with previous loggers - the FB number is very unusual - a clear gap between the two zeroes. A shame it's hidden in a hedge. Dived in for this while the farmer was ploughing his field but much lower down!
MCL spot on with best way to get to this one - easy if muddy walk from the gate - pillar good condition, GPS shows 81m, lost in the hedge - quiet farmland area. agree unusal numbering are there any others like this?
Interesting one this because of its unusual number. So unusual that, with the space included, you can't type it into this database! Hence entering it without the space as 11003... Best way to get to this one is via field gate from roadway some 50m west of the hedgepoint. Over the gate, and walk round the very wide field border till you reach the trig. No scratchy hedges to scramble through!
This is on North West side of hedge, chose wrong side and being too lazy to retrace went under hedge. Picking hawthorn thorns out of my hands foa a week! Pillar good condition.
easy walk up the field edge.
Embedded in hedgerow but still white.
Parking as the hedge leaves the road then a simple stroll up best to get into the western field early as the hedge is a mix of nettle rose and hawthorn. ouch
(143) Quite a nice walk along the hedgerow to find this one.
Exposed from the NW side of the hedge
Didn't go far enough into the field to find this. Extremely hot day just couldn't be bothered to fight my way through the wheat and hedgerow. I'll come back later.
E edge of hedge, edge of arable fld, VGC, metal cap, FB no 110 03 has distinct (unplanned) space betw zeros |
