Quck scramble up the crags to the pillar. met farmer on way down who told us about the stone circle and the beaker people who used to populate the area. He had a 20 or so sacks of coal to transport down the track to his house.

Good little walk up track then up onto crags with great views,also walked along to small stone circle.

Parked at the roadside and had a short walk up to this great viewpoint. Superb crags and a stone circle nearby. I liked this spot, with it's wide ranging views an atmosphere. Spotted some nesting falcons nearby on cliffs. Easy approach to trig from bridleway.

Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. FB faces 5° north. Vented through south sight hole. FB face proved difficult to photograph, one step backwards and you`re over the cliff.
