Logged Visits:
Pillar in good condition on a large concrete plinthe. Views are good apart from nearby windfarm. There is a gap in the barb wire fence at the path/wall junction south of the pillar.

Brilliant views for little effort - near wind farm now.
Parked in car park East of pillar,just off the B6232,and then a short walk following good paths to pillar.Agree with painterman61 when he says pillar is in good condition,looks ok to me after the apparent repair.White (repaired!!) pillar on plinth,blacked FB,plastic plug in spider and one sight hole open.Excluding the wind farm,good 360° views.
Revisit after a walk around grange quarries pulled over to park near hyndburn sign on verge very busy road short stroll up hill.The trig is no longer on its own it now has many wind turbines behind it,trig has had a coat of paint FB in matt black as well plastic plug great views here again clouds in great formation could see blackpool tower clearly from here.P.S. on checking old log the top has been repaired by happycyclist so condition is now good not damaged.

The fog has gone at last. Good tramp from layby to SE over frozen ground. Good views now. May have been here before in early 1994.
first of three today on 10m circular walk. Trig looks good as newly painted, didnt notice any damage.
First visited 28/02/11. Re-visited trig point on 28th and 29th July to try and restore it. My building skills aren't up to much but I did my best and also gave it a lick of paint.
Stopped off on work visit. Parked on grassy track by road and walked up from the footpath.
Great View over Central Lancashire
Parked on grass on bend where drop kerb is fitted. Only one fence to hop over nice night with sun setting on the sea in distance. Went to Grey mare pub after very cheap and good.
ran to here from stop & rest , darwen. cool night sleet at times , very boggy & tussocks.
Easy walk trig top damaged fine views plastic plug
Very wet day. Could not get though barbed wire fence. There must be another way up
Parked car across road from the Gray Mare pub on the B6232 next to the old barn. Headed north up the road to the footpath up to the trig. Good views good condition round trip of 1.2 miles.
Parked up a grass track on the apex of the main road corner, only 200m from pillar. Over a barbed wire fence. Badly eroded top, good views.
Bagged on way home from work.
Parked in lay-by on B6232 near visitor centre then short walk up road to ROW then followed to top.Good views all round.
Run from Rishton to Ramsbottom via Stanhill (TP6158), Duckworth Hill (TP2872), Rushy Hill (TP5777), Hog Lowe Pike (TP3963), Bull Hill (TP1762)
Stands on a very sturdy plinth - a bit over the top as the ground seems firm! However, the rot has really set in around the spider leaving it completely exposed.

Retrospective log - short stroll from B6232
Circular walk from the visitor centre. Easy going but wet in places.
A very moist ascent over Oswaldtwistle Moor. Good distant views.
Getting around the local trigs. Nice day for a short walk.
As others have said, the top is badly damaged, and parking isn't easy on a pretty busy road.
Snow and lots of wind!
Plug replaced by cover; trig on plinth; spider exposed but firmly attached. Views over Blackburn and towards Winter Hill. More cotton grass than rushy.

...on the last day of November. My first logged Trig Point on this site, and a place full of atmosphere. Bit too much traffic noise from the Blackburn Road for a high mark.
Top is damaged - probably vandalised. Visibility down to around 60 feet so a fair appraisal cannot be made of surroundings.
Cracks in the concrete have let water in and as a result calcium salts have been leached out of the concrete, redeposited giving the pillar a tufa shell. As well as this someone has had a good go at trying to remove the spider. Easy walk over the moors from the one parking place I could find.
12/15 for the day. On the moors and has seen better days!
