TP5800 - Sanda Island
Logged Visits:
Visited on the way back from the lighthouse. Very clear with big views to Cairnsmore of Fleet, Slieve Snaght, Trostan, Goat Fell amongst others. Very welcoming island with good food!
I arranged a RHB trip for 22 to the island today. Cool and sunny but a rollercoaster ride there and back. Able to accesss the lighthouse which was GR8 with access to helipad.
Spider retains OS cap with raised lettering.
vgc, metal cap, wide raised letters. Highest point of a lovely wee island - cliffs, shapely satellite islands, views included Ireland, Arran and Ailsa Craig. 16 of us visited on a perfect November day with Mull of Kintyre Seatours www.mull-of-kintyre.co.uk
Stayed in one of Dick's cottages (highly recommended) and visited the trig twice - once at night to identify the various lighthouses visible from there - we made it eight! Then rushed down to have a pint in Britain's remotest pub! Great view in day as well.
