TP0621 - Warwick FBM Aux 1
Logged Visits:
easy find on grass in car park, clean and Shiny today
took abit of finding for saying it's only on a small island in the car park.
Logged after a visit to the castle, the Zetland Arms (excellent pint of Pedigree) & pizza express
As previously noted, on a grass island near the Pay & Display machine. Under a thin layer of mud so easily found.
Grass island in St Nicholas car park
found easily with info below- esp photo by Fasgadh
Covered in thin layer of mud.
Easy find in public car park
In St Nicholas Park car park that is immediately to the rear of the church. On the island with the Pay & Display machine. Almost buried under the summer grass but now a little more visible.
Well hiddden by the grass, although easy to find on second attempt using fasgadh picture as guide.
So frustrating not to be able to find this berntsen despite looking for over 10 minutes. Looked at the photos on the website when we returned home and realised we must have been standing on it at times!
Warwickshire. I knew that we were at the right location but with no prodding tools, failed to uncover it.
Wandered around kicking a lump of concrete or two before spotting it.
after several false stabs with my car keys, I found it
Not too difficult to find, biggest problem was try not to look too dodgy poking around in the grass on a busy saturday afternoon.
Visiting nearby geocache
Heavy rain had left a thin layer of silt over the top of this Berntsen. Nevertheless straightforward find with the OS plan.
Easy car park findeven looks like you are picking up a ticket as you stop and go. Weather horrrid though with thick fog slowing things so much I skipped the nearby trig I was planning to visit en route.
Easy to find in the turf - someone has been here before me!
Easy to find in the carpark. Warwick is a nice place sadly I was only passing through and on lunch.
Nothing to add really. Easily visible and findable at the moment.
Located in car park, near pay and display ticket machine - not too overgrown
Looked for this back in Feb, on a Saturday afternoon. Maybe not the quietest of times to visit! Found it this time though! Helped a bit by recent grass cutting. Think that there may be extra mud/soil around the marker, as it is below "ground level". It's a car park, the views are not up to much, but the gardens are well worth a visit with the displays of flowers.
Was getting on in the day by the time i got here so looks from Joe Public not too frequent, covered but not buried and thanks to earlier pics a relatively easy find
I didn't find it. I admit I'm not a GPS user, but thought with the photos of previous visitors I should find it. I'm sure I must of given it a good kick at some point, but even worse news if you hadn't 'paid & displayed' - the parking attendant was doing the rounds while I was there! Anyway couldn't stay here all day, had more promising things to find and I didn't want to explain myself to the attendant!
The grass was flattened over the berntsen, but soon revealed by a bit of footwork. It would have been more interesting if it had been in the pleasant riverside park, rather than this dull car park. GR to 10m only.
grass island in St Nicholas car pk, small metal cover in conc block, tends to be covered by grass
This is obviously a popular spot - 3 visits in 4 days! Having cracked the OS link site, thanks to fasgadh, this was a breeze! Right by the 'Pay and Display' machine on a small piece of lawn.
Easy find, and the previous visitors paw marks all over it. Very close to the ticket machine (40p for an hour).
With a broken wrist from the previous weekends orienteering activities I thought this would be a weekend bereft of trigs. I did however persuade the family that a day out in Warwick was just what they wanted. Unfortunately I think they had visions of a tour round the famous castle rather than a hunt around in a car park for this Berntsen. It is on grassy island in the middle of the car park. Beware of strange looks from those parking their cars.
