Second visit. SITE VISIT: Pillar in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces east, ~87°. Vented through north sight hole. Full 360° panoramic view from top.

Recently repainted! Gorgeous views over the surrounding area. Easy wander up from the road, and on open access land.

Double visit location as was able to log the neraby geocache on the same visit. Open access so pillar is easily acessible and highly visible on its hill top location. Pillar in good condition and has a memorial plaque attached to it. Some wonderful views from this elevated location. Found another bagger just leaving as I arrived.

Done as an add on to one of Derek Purdy's Northumberland Mountain Bike routes - a 12 mile ride to get 3 miles from Powburn. My son refused to let me go up the other trig near the route! The sun, the fine views and the scent of the heather almost paid for the dreadful summer we have had. Memorial plaque on pillar.
