Cracking reward for a horrendously steep climb up from Neuadd Reservoir. But once up, it's plain sailing all the way around the horseshoe walk.

Lovely day, nice trig, good views of the Pen y Fan horseshoe. I came from the North up Cefn Cwn Llywch and over Pen y Fan but the easiest access would be from the car park by the reservoir to the East. The site was occupied by a member of HM armed forces acting as a base station for a "NavEx" who very kindly took a picture of me and the trig.

Combined in a long circular walk round the Brecon Beacon summits this is a very isolated out of the way trig point in such an unusual position...! Its not on any high points. The Trig point One out of the way and lonely trig point...!©daveyboy

I am now relaxing in a Youth Hostel in Wales in the middle of a weekend lads hike around the Brecon Beacons with Craig. Yesterday we went on a 10 mile hike around a horse-shoe shaped ridge and up and down three mountains, Fan-y-Bīg (719m), Cribyn (795m), and Pen-y-Fan (886m), none of which had a trigpoint! My knee started hurting but then we got this one at Twyn Mwyalchod which cheered me up!
