No height marker.. rusty fence and awash with nettles - stingy! :)
Followed the Wye, then old railway track out of Ross. This ends abruptly at Backney Bridge.Carried on up river before heading to BA.This is my first FBM.Can of Strongbow still there, give me Stowfords or Scrumpy Jack anyday! Revisited the 900yr old church & trig point.Warm & sunny but thick haze meant no real views.
So overgrown I stood a meter away before seeing the railings
An easy spot at this time of year before the vegetation gets going. Behind the usual iron railings and with the anti-vandal metal plate visible to the left. Awkward place to park!!
(189) Took on the nettles which were a good 5ft high to uncover the FBM, nettles won a moral victory, leaving me with many battle scars (Oh the fun of trigging in the dark)
could see just the top 6 inches of railings sticking out of nettles
Solid impassible nettles to the edge of the road. Road sign visible and water hydrant marker also in sight but the vegetation wins this time
It's to the right of the road sign at the T junction if you approach the village from the east. Newish looking green railings but area a bit neglected. We visited it because it was there (sorry Father Ted).
Seems the cider monster is still around, cant be the same can ...or is it ???
My first FBM. Seems 12th March was a popular date for a visit here.
vgc, OSBM & GPS plates, no height tag, standard green railings surrounded by brash but clearly visible on verge at road jct
No fake cider this time, but the nettles are growing. Easy spot with the traditional benchmark railings. This fellow has had an escape.. A tree has recently fallen down here. While I am definitely not responsible for the can... (Me drink THAT stuff?) I am most certainly a cidermonster. Still looking for a reliable source here in the land of the deep fried pizza.
The FBM sits inside its own green railings at the T junction coming into the village. The FBM looks in good condition and seems to look happy on a diet of Strongbow. |
