Conveniently located on a grass verge, the FBM is easily accessible. The height marker is still in place and reads 658.04 ft. TP7228 TP7228 Troon©Alan Grove

My first visit to a fundamental benchmark. Appears to be made from a good lump of solid Cornich Granite. Told my son he needed some driving practice before his driving test and I navigated him here!

This is a fundemaental mak (a small cube of stone) with a paque thereon. It is not simple to find due to its size. The GPS co-ordinates are good, but when you get near, look for a farmhouse with a lawned, car pull-in opposite it. The mark is in this pull-in, on the road side, mid-way along. On a wet day, you could even stay in the car!!. Views are pretty abysmal, but I suppose that is not what this one is all about.
