TP7861 - Bricksbury Hill

No Pillar here - looked around to see if was toppled like Hungry Hill near by - no such luck - great area - amazing views.
Grey and windy day but a need to walk off christmas excess and an opportunity to complete all my local trigs. Benchmark database suggests this is an approximate location, and lost to quarrying June 1951 - certainly the surrounding area has been extensively worked for gravel, and at c. 180m is now some way lower than the original height of this trig (613ft / 187m). Would have had views south to the N Downs. MOD heathland but no problems with access (provided you obey the byelaws!); good parking on A287 by water tower opp garage. |
