Parked at start of muddy lane to East. Took footpath into field, then followed field edge around to GZ. Field has been harvested, not yet ploughed back in. Not much in the way of views on a mizzly grey afternoon.

Ample Parking at SK39410 14400. Walked up track and turned right onto public footpath towards the trig from the east. Where the path crosses into a field on the right just keep on straight and follow the field line (careful not to damage any crops) around to a small coppice and the trig is located at its edge.

Started from the carpark near the church in Packington and walked up Spring Lane – approached the trigpoint from the public footpath by the side of the wood. Returned via Reocliffe Wood and Sunnyside Wood. Nice walk with some sunshine but lots of mud in places.

Parked at the start of nearby bridleway and found footpath into the field about 10m up the lane. Walked around the field and found trig easily in far corner. It is in good condition but slowly being buried in the bracken and branches. Bit sad really, not a very popular one. No views of any interest.

Collected on a circular walk from Packington. A slight diversion from the path and no problem finding the trig point.Between here and Normanton le Heath, there were signs of current open cast mining in operation. Nothing marked on the 2005 Explorer, looks very recent.

Well, the last one of the day and trig number 700! Started on the footpath and then skirted the small copse to find a rather sad-looking pillar between the trees and a field of oil-seed rape which was in full flower and so must have been late-sown as all the other fields around here flowered some time ago. Traces of white paint beneath the grey. Original plug with slightly-indented letters. Sightholes below vegetation level. Some mid-distance views NE, otherwise nothing, but still a pleasant agricultural spot.

I decided not to waste too much time in visiting this trig given fasgadh's comments on planning notices. Fortunately, the tirg and woodland are still currently in tact. She looks somewhat sad in her flaking grey pain. Last month when the bluebells were in flower she would have looked much better. I made a pleasant evening walk out of this bag starting in the village of Ravenstone and taking in a few of the copses in the area.

This one may be doomed. On the muddy byway I used to get in, there was a planning notice for an open cast mine. For now, the plans spare the pillar. The pillar stands on the edge of older woodland and was once painted grey. The paint is flaking revealing OS white. Inatct and good condition.
