West Register House stands on the west side of Charlotte Square in the west of Edinburgh New Town. The Robert Adam designed St George’s Church was built in 1811 as an important part of the planned Georgian New Town. It was converted in 1964 for use by the Scottish Record Office. It is a Category A listed building and is situated inside Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site.
