Intersected station SU59/INT020. Computed 1951, listed by OS as Destroyed 12/85. I initially assumed it was on the roof of the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. Then I realised that that did not exist until the late 50s or early 60s. I found the mast on the 1960 1:10,560 map, at which stage Harwell labs was open to the north, but the site of the Rutherford was still the old RAF runways. So I assume the mast disappeared when the Rutherford was built. I have found no evidence of the mast lasting into the Rutherford era.
